barcelona red. how owners like it

Looove my 2nd gen. Stands out in the crowd, but it's a small truck so it's not too obnoxious.

 

4 years in and still loving it.

 

I think red pops on the Tacoma. I love the color.

 

I didn’t like it at first but that color has grown on me, everytime I see one I’m always like why didn’t I get that color instead of Inferno.

 

That’s funny, I think the same thing when I see the rare Inferno around my parts! The grass is always greener...

 

Didn’t set out to buy this color, but I quickly fell in lust with it.

 

I have an MGM DCLB-OR and love the truck, but if I could snap my fingers and make it BR (or CB), I would. MGM is fine, but kinda vanilla and it dirties too easily. Love the red/black accents with the overfenders.

 

Cleans up awesome. As soon as i saw this color i knew i was gonna buy it

Love mine. That was my first choice in color.

My question is... has the barcelona red color changed over time, or does it fade slightly with age? I feel like when I see the earlier 3rd gen tacos the barcelona red looks slightly darker.

 

Mine is a 2019 and has not faded at all.

 

my 2014 lives in the sun here california (no garage) It's shown 0 signs of fading when I replaced the graphics and badges.

 

I've always had a subconscious weakness for metallic red vehicles and with the Tacoma, I narrowed it down to two colors: Barcelona Red or Cement. I would've been equally happy with either but I feel the Barcelona red is timeless where the cement is currently 'popular' right now. Again, I like them both equally. Inferno? Yes, I would love that but they don't offer it on 2021 models...

 

It is funny that I was the opposite. I never liked red vehicles. Some are proper in red, just could never see myself in one.

I got most of the deal worked out before see it for real at the dealer and was thankful that it is a timeless red, like you said. Muted just enough with enough hints of other colors to change in different lighting.

I'm thankful that it worked as my only other choices were two MGM Tacos. I swear MGM is the same color that Toyota shared with Subaru that is on our Forester. That would have been a weird pair in the garage.


I still take a lot of heat from friends about finally getting a truck and a red one at that.

 

Haha, I was the same, I never thought I'd have a red truck and then I saw red 3rd gen pro, and it just looked so good with all the chrome taken off. When I found a dealership that mismarked a red truck that met all my specifications, I jumped on it. Got about $8k off the sticker price of my truck because someone at the dealer listed the wrong price online. Big time score!

Then I found a red 1stgen 4runner in a junkyard and brought her back to life. Now i have two red Toyota trucks -_- my friends love to give me shit.

 

Nice deal! The chrome thing is weird. It's a truck, dammit! I don't want shiney bits.


Good work on the 4Runner. I've always had a thing for removeable roofs.

 

I love the color when its clean but hate it when its dirty. It doesn't pop at that point.
