Not sure the URD stuff will work well enough. Id just go for the Map ecu. Dont' need the port fueler to use it.

It's not a pain to tune oversize injectors at all. My 550s are no prob with AEM F/IC. Not even sure how these rumors get started.

I guess injector tech used to be shit in its early days.

There is a lot of misinformation out there that led me to believe that if I wanted to increase injector flow it would be better to let the stock ECU and injectors manage fueling under vacuum and use additional injectors to manage fueling under boost.

Yeah I've seen that stuff and I think it's mostly perpetuated by gadget to promote using his 7th injector system and port fueler systems. Maybe Injector tech was not as good as it is now though or maybe injectors were much more expensive, not sure. I have a $300 set of eBay "osidetiger" injectors and a $350 AEM FiC and it works like a dream.

It sounds like there are more people using the AEM FIC to tune their turbo Tacos
I am hoping someone out there has some experience with the MAPECU who can point me in the right direction for my base maps.
I'm new to tuning and I don't have access to a dyno where I live.

I've been running the Walbro 190 since 2004 when I installed the SS FTC and larger injectors. I have never had any issues as well as the others that I have installed.

I also have not had issues tuning for the larger injectors (318cc) either. Maybe you should try it first and see what you r own experience is.

    Let me preface the above:

I'm not a huge fan of the FTC, I have a AEM FI/C waiting to go in and think it will be a much better choice for tuning and will eventually dump the SC to go turbo.

I have 650cc injectors and have no problems tuning with the AEM at all. My max duty cycle was 28% at 9:1 afr wot, lol so I'm well within what they can do, they were cheap too... And no issues with the AEM 320lph pump so far. If anybody else ends up using it I have a install thread.

Thanks @Torspd for the text lol, I don't get email notifications anymore for whatever stupid reason... And unfortunately nothing new with the build aside from the fact my cam seal are still leaking oil

I've been wanting to upgrade my fuel pump before turning up the boost... is the AEM fuel pump loud?

Yeah but it sounds cool :D
Mine is only loud after the truck warms up for whatever reason, but my exhaust sort of drones it out. You can't hear it at all in the cab.

I don't notice it. The Walbro with the URD 7th kit was super loud though.

Just turned up to 13 psi and this truck is rippin'. I'm strongly considering setting up my meth kit but can't decide if I want pre or post turbo. My turbo is on the small size flow wise so pre would be ideal but I don't want to damage this new $800 turbo I just bought since I'll probably just be running wiper fluid.

The pumps will be louder on high duty than low duty.

Aeromotive has the stealth series pumps. Very quiet. My Walbro 485 LPH E85 pump is surprisingly quiet as well.

Good to know thanks for all the suggestions. Clay, why not a small nozzle pre and post? Better atomization and same flow larger nozzle.

That's kind of what I was thinking. i think with dual injection I could lose my IC as well, or at least switch to a smaller one stuffed behind my grill.

    Sounds like a plan
I think I'll start off using the URD AFR and MAF calibrators with the stock fuel pump, stock injectors and water/methanol injection for intercooling.
I'll monitor my fuel pressure and AFR's and if needed I'll install the fuel pump and 310cc injectors.
Then when I want timing control I'll swap out the URD tuners for the MAPCAL3.

Curious what size exhaust to run with the turbo.
Currently I have 2.25" cat back with 18" Magnaflow and high flow cat.
I don't really want to replace the exhaust because it's fairly new and all SS so $$.
The CX downpipe is 3", could I step it down to 2.25" or would this choke the flow too much?
I thought too large of a diameter would take away torque due to reduced backpressure.

this is true in NA applications. With a turbo, you want very little back pressure so the exhaust fan can spin up faster. Too big for the turbo isn't doing you any favors, too little and you'll choke it.

probably be okay with the 2.25 but 3'' would be better.
