That's the sound that my dealer got me new door seals for. I suspect you could get the same if you don't want to do foam.

I have a whistle & it is super annoying - any speed over 30mph really. I guess I'll try the dealer...

Went to the dealer and they heard the whistle - said there is a door seal TSB coming down the road.

That's the noise that has been driving me crazy on long road trips. Usually only can hear it when I'm going 65-70+ mph. Did the dealer know about this issue and did they put the new door seals in without any hassle?

    Thanks for the help

Well, I asked them to plug the control arm, and the dealer said "nope, it's door seals. Trust me."

So not only without hassle... But without being asked to specifically do that.

I have a tiny whistle and my window rattles when its lowered an inch or so and im driving.. Most of the time you dont have your window down all the way, you just crack it for air... I took it in and they were like we cannot reproduce.. I hate the dealers where Im at. They are the worst. I swear 90% of the issues I have could be fixed by a dealer who actually cared.. These ones seem to be turds.

I told them about it a few months ago and they just told me it was aerodynamic issues with wind coming off the mirror and hitting the window. That could partially be the issue, but it still should be fixed. Hopefully now being a few months later they will do something about it.

I have the control arms issue too, but that doesn't bother me as much.

I think I have fixed the window rattle...

Vacuum hose inside the door plugged in between the inner seal. There is a lip just like on the outer seal to keep water out. When you put the tubing in it creates pressure on the window. That pressure pushes on the back side of the window holding it firm to the outer seal and stopping the rattle from happening. I didnt have to open the door or shove it in the plastic on the outside of the door. No worries about moisture or anything getting in the cab or the door as the tube is placed on the inside seal in the gap thats naturally there. I have only used about 3 inches of tubing shoved about 3 inches from the front of the window on the inside of the window. Youll have to play with your door to see how much youll need based on how much play was in the window. More tube makes the window tighter against the outer seal. Be careful not to put too much pressure on the window... might burn out the motor over time.

I went to an auto store and picked up a foot for 40 cents...

Thanks very much mosspig, my 17' w/ 300 some miles on had a drivers side window rattle/ ticking sound w/ the window down just a bit. Stuck in a bit of tubing per your write up and that seems to have solved it, thanks dude.

I have 2018 Tacoma TRD 4x4 offroad double cab. I had whistle sounding on the driver side window. I went to Toyota dealer to check out and they told me that it is normal wind noise. And I found this posting and tested my car with tape. And magically, whistle sounding disappeared. Thank you for your help. I have permanently fixed with silicone sealer and a round rubber band instead of going back to Toyota dealer and try to explain to them and fix it.

I've been having a similar issue with my 2017 OR except it sounds more like an air leak instead of a whistle. Doesn't happen all the time, but still annoying. Almost sounds like bad weather seal between the door and frame.

Mine sounded like air leak too. Mine happened when I hit above 38 miles/hr. And gets louder as speed goes up. Try to use tape like I did and see if it goes away.

I have the same issue on my month old 2019 double cab sport. Do you have and pictures of how you fixed the issue? It's driving me crazy on a brand new truck!

IMG_0404.jpgIMG_0405.jpg Here is how I fixed the problem. I put clear silicone around the the side mirror base and place round rubber in between side mirror base and window glass. I didn't solve the problem completely but reduced the noise a lot.
