The dealer did the frame and all associated stuff with that kit (front lower control arms, rear leaf springs, brake lines, brake cable), they changed oil, replaced coolant, added refrigerant for ac, they also replaced the iacv. I have already replaced steering rack/pump/lines, rebuilt alternator, new ignition coils with plugs and wires recently. I've had this truck 10 years and have literally replaced almost everything.

Im new to this but how'd you get toyota to put a new frame on it? I have a 98 that may need a new one soon. I think I bought it sometime around 09-2010.

Unfortunately, Tacomas from 1995.5-2001 are no longer eligible for frame replacements. Originally, the 1995.5-2000 were bought back and the 2001-2004 qualified for replacement if the frame was inspected before 2012 and if they failed before 15 years of the manufacture date. That means that the only 1st gens that will get replacement frames are ones that were Toyota-inspected before 2012 and from 2002-2004.

    Hope this helps,
    _Charlie

I got super lucky is how. Frame was sprayed in 2010 and all that spray does is hide the rust. When i found the hole i was still within the time frame that they replaced the frame. Being an 02 i just made it plus having the truck 10 years and doing the original spray recall helped. Unfortunately you are s.o.l. There are companies that make replacement steel sections to weld in but thats a 2 to 3k repair

Has it ever been wrecked? Could be the lighting but it looks like the drivers side headlight and foglight have been replaced. What are the mounts underneath the front bumper for? An old bullbar or something? I'm putting my 2nd gen up for sale later this week and I want to pick up a cheaper 1st gen to take its place. Could you provide more detailed pictures of the undercarriage? Obviously the frame is good but I'd like to see all the other components due to the fact that it's a north east truck. Thanks!

Clean title, never wrecked. Pics are a combination of lighting and half were taken with a good camera vs my phone (will retake and repost pics). Fog lights have not been replaced, headlights are original as well and have been cleaned up with one of those 3m kits, looks like the one needs it again. Front mount tabs were from a cheap bull bar that rusted out, i can remove those. I can throw it on the lift over the next few days and post up more undercarriage pics, i want to also take some new shots with better lighting. I know the gas tank skid is full of surface rust but for a northeast truck, its pretty darn good. Helps that toyota replaced the frame, leafs and a bunch of other stuff.
