Humm the shaft has at the tightest 1.5" between the gas tank and shaft

Edit: and most of the tank is above the shaft at normal ride heights

As much as, so 2" side to side or 4"total. Lifted trucks with longer travel have been known to make contact with the fuel tank. Stock would take a curbshot type for to move that far.

So it's a bad idea to put it there. Especially since I want to get dakars or something to shove better weight/?more travel

I would make sure it has a minimum of the same clearance as the fuel tank. Are you putting it close to the muffler for shower purposes? Cause that might melt if not filled with water

I was looking for a low center of gravity point that would allow a more perminant set up while keeping the room in the bed for bikes or gear. Figuring if I did put it there I wold have to put some sort of heat shielding on.

So for the harness did you just recreate the factory harness directly
I bought a complete parts car to do the conversion and trying to figure the best way to do it
    Any input

If you have a complete parts car it may be easier to swap the entire harness. That way you don't have to cut and splice wires.
I only had a few hrs at the junkyard to get the harness so I got the connectors and as much wire as possible. The t-case wire I sniped at the engine where it met the rest of the wires. And the front add was the same way.
