A local Toyota dealer's part runner backed into my 2002 Tacoma
I had a "gentleman's agreement" with service manger that they would take care of it to take it to their body shop.
I dropped it off a week later , it been there close to 2 weeks and I have'nt heard from them
I called left messages with service manger since last thursday, I was able to get ahold of him today, I was told the repairs are over 5K and the trucks not worth that amount and for me to call MY insurance.
I called back asked for office manager and explained & asked for THEIR insurance to file the claim, she knew nothing about the deal between me and service manger and was upset about it, She called me back after talking to GM & owner and they aren't happy either how service manger handled the whole thing.
My Tacoma is dirty, body is (was) straight and had 321K miles on it. Engine ran strong. its been in the last yr down to MX twice and to east coast n back from NM. it ran great.
It looks like I'm fuked and will be out of money to find a replacement. Its my DD I also own a 2013 Tacoma which I use once a week and on road/off-road trips

The OM passed info on to their insurance now I have to wait.
    Pissed off!!!!!

I drove it for a week after the accident with only a small amount of tire rubbing in tight turns

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I think this is where it went wrong.

Sorry to hear OP, but you should have had it documented and everything. Would be less headache in the long run.

So sorry to hear this. I had a similar experience last august, dude changed lanes into my truck (Speedway blue... how'd you miss this?) and his mirror bashed in my bedside. We both pulled over, he admitted fault there to me. I haven't ever had this sort of thing happen before so I took his information and I went on my way. I had somewhere I had to be soon, and he seemed to be in a bigger hurry than I was. Told him I would make a claim in a couple of hours after my errand. When I finally did get the claim made, they sent an adjuster out a week later to look at it... and then they started to claim it was my fault! The dude changed his story with the insurance company, and because I didn't file a police report the photos I took weren't enough evidince and I got boned. Moral here, always take the CYA policy and take every precaution to assure this doesn't happen twice. I learned my lesson ugh. Sounds like you did too bud, sorry.

ALSO, as a former body technician... that doesn't look like 5k worth, but its hard to tell from the pics. Is the fender apron crunched?

Sounds to me it just needs a fender, lights, bumper and some time on the door. Doesn't look so bad, I'd be all after that service manager.

you should have just immediately called your insurance. your insurance works for you and would contact their insurance to get the ball rolling.
