If you are willing to wait a little you can have your cake and eat it too. The AudioControl D-4.800 combines the LC7i with an integrated amp. I ordered one, was supposed to ship last week but was delayed.

You are right, I was thinking DSP not LOC.

I Am loving right now I actually just went in and played with some settings right now. It's great. I do have a sub powered to it directly.

Headunit to lc7i 1 connect to my amp powering component speakers and tweeters and 1 to my amp powering the sub. You literally have everything. You can probably get away with a lc6. I got this for 80 bucks picked up same day off the app offer up. If budgeting is a concern just shop around be patient and you'll find what you need. Trust me I am very impatient but this build has really been testing me. Do it once do it right.

The bass rolloff is just fine. You can literally put the bass on low on ur headunit. Tune it through the lc controller and amp. Go back to ur headunit and turn it up some more.
The tuning is great. You would think you're speakers are limited to the headunit. You would be surprised. Turn it up for my would be about mid 50s I have the touchscreen. You can then turn it up through the lc and then some more through the amp.

Hope this gives you an idea of what it's really capable of. Let me know if you have any more concerns.

To me the Lc7i doesn't allow you to tune anything. It seems like a popular choice but I don't see the advantage of it compared to a regular LOC or just doing High level into an amp. If you truly want to tune your system you need some kind of sound processing. There are a few head units that have some advanced tuning capabilities, but you best bet is a DSP. I have a miniDSP c-dsp 6x8 in my truck and its been great. https://www.minidsp.com/products/car-audio-dsp/c-dsp-6x8

I have a thread of my build on here talking about it and there are others on here that are running a DSP.

It does take some effort to get it tuned but if you're willing to spend the time its worth it.

The Lc7i has "accubase" which allows for adjustable progressive low frequency fill in to account for progressive low frequency fall off from OEM head units, which is why I think it is popular over a more traditional LOC. A DSP is definitely better solution though but also more expensive.

Exactly, This is what I'm am looking to address. Guess I should of clarified that filling in is what I'm after > specific tuning. Plus the cost difference
