Hello everyone, I have a 2011 AC Prerunner. I recently got into an accident, Mostly just the front bumper and headlights need replaced nothing huge. when i took it to the shop i asked the adjuster for OEM parts. He said they can do whatver is cost effective. I just saw the estimate for which none of the parts are OEM. How do i get OEM parts? Thanks for any help.

Depends on your policy. Some state they can rebuild using non oem parts as long as they meet spec. You would have to check the nitty gritty of your actual policy.

You tell them to use OEM parts and make sure they do. The insurance should pay for it and as long as they are, shop gets no say. If they give you a hard time, go to someone else. My bet is they charge for OEM to your insurance but get take offs junkers and pocket the extra.

Sorry about the hit and run. That really sucks.

Some will authorize OEM parts if the vehicle is less than a year old. Otherwise, you can pay the difference. And your deductible too..

Check that the headlights are CAPA certified at least.

    It sucks, but whatchagonnado? :annoyed:

This has occurred with me and I have always found that the body shop will get new OEM parts. Could be the body shop though. I
