taking my truck to a regular car wash is pointless. they see my vinyl flooring and get completely lost. after i saw them trying to vacuum my OEM rubber floor mats I realized that taking this thing to a regular car wash would just be a waste of money. once you add armor, a roof rack, light bar, RTT etc, washing it yourself is the best choice. Either that, or have someone come out and wash it at your home/work, but the last time a mobile detailer quoted me $250, so I am washing it myself from now on.

yeah. One look at the truck and people add a premium cost to it. extra for large vehicle, extra for the mud, extra for the plastic floor mats to take out to wash, extra extra extra lol

I went to my local industrial hardware store and picked up a bunch of black security torx. unfortunately they all got rusted to shit.

yeah, and then they go "oh, you have a dog? that would be $25 extra". Bitch, i have vinyl floors and leather seats. compared to all other mess in my truck, dog hair is literally the easiest thing to clean.

That sucks! Maybe I can just hit them with a little black spray paint before install.

Not sure if spray paint will prevent rust, probably easier to just replace them every few months with a nicely greased set. But I do want to deal with oxidation of the rack itself. But someone in this thread has mentioned that Harley Davidson engine cleaner works real well.

I was referring to the stainless units that was posted earlier. I'd get those and spray them...

Considering how many of us have asked this same question in the last week I'm thinking they need to do one very soon...
