    I know, I know!
It's all bull. I am on my 3rd TSB…..all rev1 and this truck still sucks!

Same symptoms keep finding their way into the ECU/ECM.

The upside is the dealer (Central Maine Toyota) are fully supportive and are well aware of the the issues we seem to be facing. It's laughable just how many low mileage used 2016/17 3rd gens are for sale in Maine.

    Going shopping this morning.

    Good luck everyone!

I think we need several drivers who are very detail oriented and have had both TSB done to know. It would not surprise me if only the wording on the paper work was different because certain for me the original TSB reduced gear hunting as well even though that was not stated as an issue addressed.

Oh I know! That's why my exasperation on the issue! So many perspectives and explanations that are contradictory and make no sense. Just wish Toyota would solve the issue once and for all. My Taco isn't bad at all and certainly nothing like some people describe. But I do have a little gear hunting and deceleration downshift clunk on occasion. Certainly not enough to make me want to sell this off, but it would be nice to have it tuned so those issues are gone!

All I am really experiencing is some gear hunting issues and a vibration that's like hold a electric tooth brush in my hands through the steering wheel....

So here is my paperwork from my TSB just done on this topic. I do not have the 3rd gear cold slip anymore but now at cruising speeds 55 and up it seems to be searching for which gear to be in kind of annoying. If I drive with the hyperspeed button (ECT) on it is much better............hoping you guru's can tell me if the right one was done if they did the wrong one etc. etc. Thanks!SCopier-PDF17022213130.jpg

From what I read it , it does specify what version of the T-SB it is. I am sure it is the latest but still no proof of a rev. 2 or 3.
Edit , You got the T-SB you needed for the trans , but there might be a newer one coming to address the new problems you have . Mine acts just like your's now and I am going for the T-SB soon .
Did they put a sticker under your hood ? That is where you will find the # of the latest software .

Are most of these issues isolated to just the new 3.5L or does the 2.7L have the same issues with it hunting for gears?

The sticker wouldn't have a Version # on it. It would have a list of Codes that were programmed into th ECU.
