Hey guys I've been lurking in this forum for over a year. Initially when shopping for a truck I was looking at the new 2016 Tacoma but was put off by the problems it seemed people had. I understand many have no problems but I just don't like buying the first model year of anything. I ended up buying a canyon diesel but I'm not totally happy with it. So now I'm looking to trade for a 2017 but thought I'd ask if any of the issues that were brought up have been resolved? I remember the low transmission fluid thing and shifting problems ect.. Off the top of my head

The ride sucks. Plus I've ready had it in the shop. The idle gets funky in am and I'm not always around a diesel gas station. I guess I'm just not feeling it. I had a 2008 taco back in the day and beat the piss out of it with no issue. I got the itch

Only problem so far is I spend 3 times more on the gas than I use to.
Not because of the mpg but because this truck is awesome to drive.

So where I used to drive my personal rig about 100 miles a month, now I'm at about 700 a month.

My wife has a new CX-5 that is badass. But every time we go out, she always suggests taking the truck.

They also say the air dam looks bad, then they want a locker afterwards, but say they didn't need the off-road version.

Btw, does the 2017 have the keyless access on both sides now? I really like the power rear window too I don't have that now

One sided only. Only added the power rear slider and the internal keyfob key as the tailgate lock.

Some people make too big of a deal about buying a new redesigned vehicle, especially when it comes to one with a track record like Toyota has.

A 2008 Tacoma is better than the 3rd gen and that's what you get for buying an Italian diesel that's made in Thailand I guess.

I think the hood scoop looks hideous, every time I see one I cringe. Even on the 2nd gens. Colored flares also look terrible to me.
I do wish the off road removed all the stupid chrome though. If it had black every where that has chrome, it would look so much better.
