Baja Rear Shocks

I have a Baja edition with the stock rear reservoir shocks that are rusted beyond belief and am looking for new rear shocks - what is a recommended shock that is reasonably affordable that is compatible with the Baja stock lift?

For a quality "budget" shock, yes (I love my 5100s).

Look at some of the resi shocks out there for something comparable in whatever your price range might be. @HeadStrong Off-Road has plenty of options. Marie will take good care of you.

Mine are bad too but they aren't rusty. I plan on taking some scotch brite pads and scuffing them up to give them the polished look again. Where ate you at in Pa.?

 

If you want close to an exact replacement, look at the Bilstein 5160. They are the same shock bodies with remote reservoir the Baja came with, just not tuned by TRD. The 5100 do not have the remote reservoir.

 

Fox 2.0 with Resi. Real nice for the money

rear has not lift. Same as regular OR. I would get the 5160

 

Love my 5160s. I'd go with those

 

I'm not worried about the shocks, I can scuff the corrosion off with a scotch Brite pad but my leafsprings have been shot for the past year and a half. I added firestone airbags after building the tire/ bed rack a year ago. I really need to call corporate about them. I don't wheel and i rarely pull a 5x14 utility trailer to haul stuff helping family members move.

5100s aren't going to be as good as those factory shocks. Clean them up with a scotch Brite and repaint them. Them cover in fluid film and carry on

 

If you mean that are flat, they are meant to be flat per their design

 

Beyond flat, they are dear ching and getting gaps in between leafs. I have 16psi in the airbags just to keep it level. It still squats if I stand on the hitch step and I'm only 224lbs..
