Sorry been absent from this thread. I'll be camping near truck haven, if you wanna join us, Shoot me a PM. I will be going up Thursday to get a good spot.

I'll be up there Thursday next week so I will try to get on line but service gets limited once everyone shows up.

It is, If you are into that sort of thing, more power too you. I went last year for the first time and it's absolute chaos. Rumors are people die all the time there. I can't believe they even let it happen. There's zero organization and people driving everywhere. I'll most likely go again this year, I wouldn't take kids or pets thats for damn sure. I'm going to try and park closer and sit on the roof for protection. It's fun to watch as long as you are safe. When we first showed up people were driving where everyone was standing, it's either move or get ran over.

We have a friend of ours with a toyota Jay if he's here. He knows the area maybe we could talk him into a run.

    Fo sho!

Cool, I'm in for that. Probably camp with you guys if that's cool. After thinking about it I wanna see some of the night crazies and possible carnage they jump into.

Yup, Unfortunately I witnessed someone die a couple years back. Didn't see what happen..but turns out he was trying to climb up a pretty steep ledge, ended up rolling backwards, not wearing a seatbelt and jeep landed on him, and had been drinking. When I got there they were giving CPR, and ended up dying. So yeah it definitely gets crazy. I tend to just hang out with my group away from all the crazy stuff.

Yeah, reinforces my point. I try to avoid situations where I have little to no control over what might happen. The whole thing IMO makes you feel small. We showed up last year found a parking spot (good luck) then made our way over to our friends and some of my employees. We were being pushed by the crowd towards the place where a truck was trying to climb up. All it would have taken was a crowd surge and we would have been uncontrollably pushed into the trucks way. Add alcohol with that and it's a receipt for death or injury. We relocated to the other side that night and enjoyed from a safer location near some trucks that gave us decent protection. I wouldn't also get to close or go in with your vehicle unless you are cool with people throwing things at it or it getting damaged. This crowd gives zero Fuks and no insurance info is being exchanged haha.

Not trying ruin anyones good time but just want people to know what they are getting into if they go. We will most likely go but with a group and this time we will know that we need to park close to get some protection from the vehicles.

Any plans of doing some runs throughout the day away from the masses?

Has anyone picked a radio channel everyone can be on to hook up? I strongly agree there is a lot of drinking Sat. and Sat. night at The Notches it get insane. I surly would not drive to them unless you are ok with damage to your rides. Every year we've seen trucks hit others sitting on the sides. But it's still fun watching the craziness. I will be with a few other toys and will be doing some runs and would like to try to meet up with others.

A few buddies and I are going to show up. I won't be camping in the mess. I prefer to be a bit remote, but like to see the madness once in my life.

We are always camping just up the hill just before dropping into the dust bowl on the north side of the main road. Check it out .

The notches are insane, but there is a huge hard pack area there where it is safe to park, and an easy walk to the notches. Just lock your vehicle. It's not too bad if you are going there to spectate.

The carnage is reserved for those actually driving in and through the notches, and for some of those who are parked up against the edge of the notches in the more active areas.

And to think, around this time tomorrow, I should be arriving.

I am like a child the night before Christmas.

It is looking like we will be taking off around 7. And try not to break down on your own out there.

We want to hit up the waterfall out by the phone booth when we get there, then go back and mess around at the notches while it is still empty there.
