    I have a little 1967 British car with 83hp

It feels faster than cars 5x hp

But that's due to the lack of modernity built in hehe

    To the grave! lol.

My blue Taco lived in Salt Lake for the first part of it's life. I have been keeping an eye on rust. It's not horrible but I keep it in check. Just flaky in spots. Luckily since I got a second first gen, black one, and have stripped it just about bare in the rear, I've found the weak points and the troublesome spots. I've already taken some preventative measures on that one.

I daily drive the blue one, the black one is turning into a race truck. When the black truck is to the point where I can DD it I plan on parking the blue one and stripping it down and doing the same thing. It's going to need a little more attention than the black one but at least I know where to look. Only annoying part is I do have a spot on the fender wells on the bed that's a little eaten (on the inside).

With a British car....I would think that was a smart move....given there electronic history. Didn't they have positive ground or something crazy like that too?

Just turned 18 last month. Super proud of him!! He's a great son and big brother. I made him his own key last night and told him to park his car if he wants and take the truck. We'll share it!

That is a purdy truck! Very nice!

I never babied the truck. Its a truck! LOL
It has a few body scratches we call memories and some dents and scratching in the bed from it earning its keep, and it has certainly done that. I would be disappointed if it didn't continue to be used for fun and work.

well- it looks like I gave up my 1st gen... I have to schedule time with the truck now. I was in a minor car accident and my son wanted me to drive his lexus while my mazda 6 was in the shop INSTEAD OF MY OWN TRUCK.

As I was saying in another post, he just got a 4 year scholarship and the only thing he wants is the truck. I'm gonna try to get unsupervised visits with it, but we'll see how long that lasts. Looking at a used RTT for $500 if we don't have to put a new motor in it. That will be for getting his Eagle rank which we celebrate next month. If we have to get a new motor, well, then the motor will be his Eagle gift!

Thats one of the better reasons to give up the truck and sounds like he will appreicate what you are giving him. Plus gives you an excuse to buy another ;)

I wouldnt agree with the engine failure as a good reason but I can see why that would be enough for some people, im my mind its not a big deal do drop in a low mileage salvage yard running engine for around $1500 total cost on average. but then I am a mechanic so I can do most of the work myself if I need to fix anything.

I am thinking of giving it up to switch to a 4runner for more power, better towing capacity, smoother ride, and overall better comfort. so I guess lack of needing an open bed is whats making me think I no longer need a pickup, its not because I have an real issue with the Tacoma that I wouldn't be willing to put up with and keep it if I still needed a pickup truck.
