I'm pulling my hair out with the lockers:annoyed:. I need to regear and take care of the needle bearings now. I'm planning on doing the third members from ECGS. Now is the time to do or is going to cost me a fortune if I do it later. It more than doubles the price of just third members.:censored: Would there be any problems with running the lockers without a compressor for a couple months?

Easy is relative. I thought it was a bit of a pain to do.

If you get a front locker you won't need the ECGS needle bearing. You can confirm that with ECGS. As to installing it without a compressor to mount to it just cap the air line until you are ready.

Thanks! I haven't seen any great deals on the twin compressor but I'll keep looking. The problem is I have the money for the third members and timing wise, now would be the best time to do the lockers or it will cost me so much more in the long run when I add them on. I can install third members but have zero interests in setting gears when installing the lockers. BUT.... that's an extra $1700+ added to the third members. Another $550ish for the twin compressor.:boom: That's the reason I might wait on the compressor. I'm all for saving money in the long run but it's getting to the ridiculous stage.

Eat poverty flavored food and stop smoking for a couple weeks and you'll have enough to cover the works. Do it right the first time.

Ate poverty flavored meals for nearly four years to stack the parts needed for the Tacoma. Getting ready to do it again for another iron I have going into the fire.

Your truck looks sick because of it! I just ordered a bamf low pro rack to finally mount my tent thats been sitting in my apartment gathering dust for the last month and a half. Should also be getting a front bumper/winch and skids soon aswell. Hopefully 35s/gears/lockers later this summer/early fall depending on how much I work.

I hear you. Doing it right the first time will save money and frustration in the long run. I've learned that lesson too many time.

I'm going to pull the trigger on the third members with lockers but will just wait for the twin compressor. Not spending an extra $500 will make me happy right now. I'll get it in the spring or early summer. I just can't get the third members without the lockers. It's no difference in labor on their end or mine. If I wait on it now then it will cost more to put in one locker later on than two now.

Hey guys, just thought I would introduce myself. Currently I live over in the Ohio thread, because, well, that's where I really live. But that's all about to change. It appears I will be moving to St. Louis this summer. My job is relocating me, Town and Country/Chesterfield area.

Been lurking here for a little while because I figured my move would be made a reality at some point.

We won't know anyone or anywhere to go in the area. I am looking forward to hopefully meeting some/all of you at some point. It really seems like you have a good thing going. Will be interested to hear where you like to go to kick up some dirt. Also love working on my, and others, trucks. So will be grateful to have help and return the favor.

As far as the truck, 2015 TRDOR DCSB. ST/Maxx, sliders, and skids (on order) and not afraid of adding beauty marks from the trail.

Wife and two kids, will be looking to getting back into camping more as the kids get older.

I am looking forward to being 7 hours closer to Colorado (where I grew up) and hope to make trips back to as well.

Oh, and one last question: Where is the good bbq at?

    Carry on...

Welcome to STL! There is a couple of us that live close to where you are moving to. There are several good bbq places in STL. Bogart's Smokehouse and Pappy's are the two places that I hear about the most. I've always been a fan of Pappy's.

I'm getting front and rear third members from ECGS. ARB lockers in both. I think that's the best/cheapest route and the 5 year warranty is a plus. *Feel free to speak out if anyone knows a better solution.* Should take a weekend to put them in. I decided to go with 4.56 because of the amount of highway driving that I do. If my truck was a dedicated rig right now then I would have gone with 4.88. The gear changing will make a dramatic difference either way. Stock gears and 35s is suboptimal.

Welcome to STL man, I live in Chesterfield as well so we'll probably be pretty close. As for BBQ. SugarFire is known for their good BBQ but it's one of those places that once they run out... they run out. So you have to get there early otherwise your stuck with left overs.
