Damn, not too bad. I would love to get a smaller tank to take on trips... may have to look into that.

We had a mod day at the shop and the fellas helped me get my @Up2NoGood heated mirror kit installed. The 5 minute kit I bought uses a Sienna mirror control switch that has the mirror fold button repurposed to activate the heated mirrors. Works perfect and saved me from sacrificing a factory switch spot.

Bring on the real February weather!

This is an awesome build man! I love the truck, the landcruiser and especially the camper!

You folks that visit auto salvage yards would you keep me in mind when you pass Mercedes or BMW cars and look for the spare tire fuel cans please. Looking for three or four of them. Mercedes offered two kinds, one for oil and the other for fuel. Look the same but the oil cans never came with passenger cars. Think BMW only offered them as fuel cans.

Spoke with @RelentlessFab and it looks like the wait will soon be over as my bumper is supposed to be done this month. Super stoked about this as it's been a long wait for me. Once we get it installed I can start figuring out what to do with the space behind it that used to be occupied by the factory spare carrier cross brace. I'd like to put a potable water tank there but have to take in the already considerable weight behind the rear axle with the bumper.

In another thread @jberry813 turned me onto a different "last ditch" fuel can that is easily less expensive than the Mercedes option. Using its method of attaching i may be able to put one onto the trailer spare carrier for diesel since the diesel water and space heater in the trailer really just sips fuel. This would free up the jerry can holder on it for either petrol or water.

Once all of this is sorted out I intend to get back into planning and building the FlipPac interior and figuring out what kit will be stored in it for trips. This will allow me to start finger poking the rear suspension again to see what upgrades will really be beneficial. @ChandlerDOOM has tried to convince me to four link the rear but I don't think I'll ever be cool enough for that. The current plan is to hopefully employ the @ARCHIVE shackle flip kit along with a rear shock relocate.

Bailed on wheeling this weekend but ended up going out anyway when a friend blew up something is his third member.

    IMG_3332.jpg
Had to drive the LandCruiser to the shop...

    IMG_3333.jpg

So I could get the Tacoma out and...

    IMG_3335.jpg

Hook up to my trailer but...

    IMG_3336.jpg

It has been awhile since I towed this one and the tires on the front axle still touched the ground before I put the suspension and 35's on...

    IMG_3337.jpg

Recruited a friend to ride with me and we split with a stop to grab a ball hitch that had a lower drop in it...

    IMG_3338.jpg

We made it just in time to change out his 37's for some factory take offs so his truck would fit on the trailer before the sun set...

    IMG_3340.jpg

Once the stockers were on lots of photographic evidence was collected and trash talked before we got it loaded up and tied down...

    IMG_3341.jpg

More ball breaking was in store before we took off to head back...

    IMG_3344.jpg

After a couple of sketchy sections where the great suspension articulation of his truck started to work against us we decided to grab some burgers...

    IMG_3346.jpg

And now it sits sadly in "the shop around back" until tomorrow when we can get back out and start pulling everything apart to see what the list of damages includes.

Sure am glad I didn't sell that trailer but I think I probably ought to trade it in for a 16 footer in case mine ever needs to get towed home on it as a DCSB was pretty much at the limit of safe length.

I lied when I said that it would cost $20.00 each to fill these, it cost $15.71 to fill each tank. The attendant and I were giggling like children when we lifted it when filled. The tank itself is light but when filled you really recognize the difference in weight. So glad I have these.

Hey @G.T. When you get it can you grab some pictures of how Eric did the spare tire mount? Kinda curious how he modified it for the bumper.

Of course. Glad to see that it got there. I was starting to wonder if I would ever see it. Would love to see your rig in person.

Westbound trips are going to be hard to do until I get the kidney transplant. Once cleared from that I will be annoying everyone when I turn up as I plan to be on the move allot. Trying to make the best out of the forced downtime, I just keep finger poking the plan and making improvements.

We will be at the Lone Star Jamboree again this year so if you are thinking of coming to that one we will see you there.

Might not make it out that way. But I would love to start exploring more out east of NM.
