Today my wife called in a panic saying the truck is shaking a lot and when she drove over 40 mph the shaking was vibrating everything, then she lost power and stalled out on the roadside. I got there truck was cranking but not starting. Jumped it now it runs rough and has a weird smell coming out the exhaust... checked oil and coolant everything's normal HELP!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'm going to guess crank or cam sensor but I could (probably) be wrong. Good luck!

There's not a whole lot you can do without some pro knowledge around these systems. But, something you might want to check is the PCM and ECM fuse boxes and poke around for blown fuses (probably not the case).

But just like Steve said, the cam sensors work together to control firing sequence. The only down fall to this is you need the specific volts these sensors are suppose to read at under difference circumstances to tell if the sensors and not actually working correctly. First start with an resistance test with the multi meter I'm guessing I've haven't worked on these but probably should com in around 2.2 omhs depending on what you have you multi meter set at. Also, when you pull the cam sensor out check the cam positioning sensor shaft for any chips, in which your going to have a lot more work on your hands then just replacing the sensor. when you pull the cam sensor visually inspect it for any damage and check the sprockets for smooth operating they should have good resistance and feel like smooth small gears that don't grind. (most likely your case)

Depending on your mileage though I would think it's actually your starter which more then not without looking at it is the cause of your issue. (maybe)

Changed all 6 spark plugs and the #4 ignition coil, cleaned the air filter, MAF sensor, and throttle body now it's running a little smoother and stronger but still a misfire. So I'll replace the rest of the coils and see what happens. Thanks for your guys help
