Sens are solid. Just sucks they have a few big injuries at the moment. The Atlantic is interesting for sure, right now.

The Leafs need Marner back if they want to hang around in the Atlantic.

A really good discussion I heard on the radio yesterday focused on the dark days of February. Historically rookie heavy teams have trouble in the month of February because that's when the grind has fully set in and it's too far from playoffs to really drum up excitement. I think if the Leafs can get into the middle of March in a playoff spot then they will have a chance. If they're more then a few points out though then their goose is cooked.

I feel like NYI is going to be the biggest problem for the Leafs.

Mainly because I think FLA is going to finish in the 3. They seem to be playing much better. I see no other threat to them front the Atlantic, unless Tampa makes a big run (which is possible). But NYI and Leaf for that last Wild Card is what I think is the main battle there.

Could be. Depends on if they can keep it up. Same with the Panthers. If any one of the teams the Leafs are within a few points of heats up then they could be in trouble. Keep in mind though that the 3rd playoff spot is up for grabs in the Atlantic, so all the Leafs need to do is beat out Boston and the Panthers.

Ya for sure. I feel like Boston is the weakest of those 3. Leafs for sure have a shot at the 3 spot. I feel like FLA will probably end up with that but I wouldn't be totally shocked if Leafs steal it. It will be interesting.

    Vermette's hearing is Thursday AFAIK.

I won a free autographed item from a prediction challenge they do before every game. They ask questions like, who will have the most SOG, shot blocks, best FO%, penalty minutes, etc. I've guessed right numerous times but finally got the win. I need to make my way to Honda Center to pick up whatever I won. :woot:

Lots of rumors the suspension might be reduced since Vermette apparently will apologize for the slash. I'm not sure I'm okay with this. Since when is it okay in the NHL to attack officials? First Wideman knocks a linesman out of the game forever intentionally, the arbitrator was an idiot if he thinks Wideman mistook him for a player, and he gets 10 games. Now a whiny little bitch, yeah I get that it's his first offense but seriously what kind of retard loses it over a few lost draws, loses his cool and slashes an official and gets his sentence reduced in half because he's sorry he missed a few 5 figure paychecks? Guess we are really sending the right message that you have to do the time for a crime.

Here's the wording of the rule:

So any reduction is basically the NHL saying that the rules don't apply when it comes to protecting officials, period.

Oh my god , trying to watch the Bruins / Ducks game being called by the super homerest of super homer play by play teams from NESN is fucking painful

Guy just said the arena is " dominated by Bruins fans " but its 90% Ducks sweaters in the stands

10 years ago to the day, gents. I remember this like its yesterday. Even still get goosebumps.

That was the defining moment of the Sens that year. The start of the '07 cup finals run. Was fun times

Bruins blew there challenge on an obvious goal...then an obvious Anaheim offsides that resulted in a goal and they couldn't challenge.

Gotta love a guy who's had 25+ goal seasons that isn't afraid to drop the mitts and stand up for the smaller guys on the team. Glad he's back with the Wild this year.
