    Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed reading all of the information that has been posted about this conversion. Many thanks to everyone's input.

I have an '08 Tacoma that I would like to add the camera to rearview mirror combo to. I have no ambition to adding the video headunit. I believe that I have the wiring figured out but am unsure about the camera to mirror combo.

It looks like the camera in the original post, mounts great and has fairly good resolution. My question is --> will this manufacturer (Pioneer) hook up to the aftermarket mirrors easily or are they specific to the same type head unit.

I have no expirence with these small cameras and any input is welcome.

    Thanks for your time,
    Mark.

Nice mod guys. In the pic showing the rear view, do you really see the edge of the tailgate? That concerns me. Is that just poor camera location and not the norm?

In all of the pics on this thread, the only thing I see is the bumper, not the tailgate. It's actually really useful to see the bumper in the shot, as I can accurately tell how close I am when parallel parking. It gives a good reference point.

I'm trying to buy the handle, but no one has it locally.

Plus toyota wants $114.00! Is there another place to source these handles?

Yea, nobody will have it in stock... Did you check with Toyota of Dallas (trdparts4u.com)? I paid around $70-80 and it came with hardware.

No water problems with this configuration, I'm able to connect my trailer extremely fast, parking a lot easier.

I miss my DNX8120. Two have been stolen from my truck. I no longer feel like I can install another aftermarket head unit.

Nice job! But, I kinda prefer the camera on the license plate cause it gives me a better view. Also, my camera even came with infared leds for night vision.

Sweet! I'm in on this one! And you used the camera that comes in the tailgate handel. Correct?
