 I know you know man, it's a good company.

They fly the shit outta their aircraft...lots of hours & cycles. Great safety record, profitable, treat customers & employees decent etc. Of course their product isn't a broad and therefore they have a smaller scope but, for domestic travel, especially regional, it's Southwest only for me.

In fact, I fly family members to my place a few times a year and even tho I ALWAYS find cheaper fares and usually better schedules for the city pairs I'm buying I still buy Southwest.

AA, DL & UA essentially only serve the markets I'm shopping with their feeder partners where crews are less experienced and those companies always seem to be on a shoestring budget.

May have been older than you. The 300/400&500 classic series were delivered mid 80ish to late 90s. Of course technology wise it's old but in the world of aircraft no too (especially if you're at a freight hauler). I believe Southwest has done some mods to the -300 to bring in a more modern cockpit.

Gotta love the 35 minute turns, not uncommon for larger stations to see 250 or more flights a day, well over 300 during the summer season

Fun Fact: The SWA -700 in your picture is an ex-AeroMexico aircraft. It's been in our fleet since Jan 2016.

    Same as everybody else...
I live a tic tac away from a base, all manner of jets, helos etc pass over everyday. The base is the economic engine for the whole county and most people either work directly or indirectly there. Every once in a while I hear someone gripe about noise and my reply is that the base opened in 1943/44 so they were here first.

Some pictures from today's flight from Dallas to NW Arkansas. Couple F-18's on the ramp in Dallas, hefty tailwind pushing me to a 200+mph cruise and a nice view surfing the tops just a few degrees above freezing at 9000 ft
