Haven’t seen much discussion regarding this subject. Needless to say I have Fox coilovers and I’m about to run the toytec 1/4” lean spacer ontop of the driver’s side coilover so I don’t have to do any futzing around adjusting the ride height when I put them on and then possibly again when they settle out. Hoping to save hours of trial and error trying to get them adjusted right. Anyhow…

Will this pose any issues? Also, the top plate spacer is about 1/8” smaller in diameter than the top hat on the coilovers, however I don’t think that will pose any issue. I figure it might be beneficial to run that spacer rather than preload the driver’s side by another 1/2” over where it’s supposed to be (the coilovers come set at 2” and they’re rated for 0-2” so I’d have to go over the 2” mark to compensate the drivers side lean). The spacer also is basically pre-set to compensate for the lean so it takes virtually all the guess work out, Yes I do get it defeats the point of having adjustable coilovers.

As some of you may know the fox 2.0’s can’t be adjusted on the truck like a typical coilover. Their aluminum bodied so you have to put them on a press to take the load off of the spring. Something I’d like to avoid. Really just wondering if the drivers side spacer will pose any issues.

There is said in the FOX instructions: "IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO USE A SPRING COMPRESSOR WHEN MAKING ANY TYPE OF PRE LOAD ADJUSTMENT."

I'd lube them well and would adjust them when the suspension is hanging free. Stupid idea (for me) to install spacers on the adjustable coilover, but I can see your point. Just screw it as much more than the spacer thickness is, simple as that.

I debated that but I found a thread where someone did exactly that and the treads above stripped out and the locking ring kept popping down to where he started from = not good. If it turns out I need to adjust them i'll do it the way fox suggests, i'm going to try and run the lean spacer for the meantime and see how it goes.

    Appreciate the input.

If your spring rate is not wildly wrong then either way will basically accomplish the same thing. One thing comes to mind about a spacer would be the chance of bottoming the shock before you hit the bump stop. But we're talking about a trim spacer and not a huge lift block, so that's got to be a very small risk.

I have the 1/4 lean spacer but don't have adjustable coilovers. I have OME 887's on 5100's

VERY good point that I hadn't considered. I'm installing the superbumps at the same time and they ride pretty close so i'm thinking (hoping) it will bump out before bottoming out. Thanks for the input.

At the same time (with spacer shim) you have about twice it's thickness more downtravel too.

Does that pose an issue? I'm running factory UCA's at the moment. I wouldn't think that it would, we're talking about 1/2"

The Toytec 1/4" lean spacer worked perfectly ontop on my fox 2.0 coilover on the drivers side. I got 22" on all 4 corners with the tsb leaf pack in the rear. No adjustments to the coilovers necessary.

Icon Stage 1 suspension on all 4 corners. Dirt King Heim UCA. Wheeler's front SuperBump bumpstops. Removed sway bar. Dakar HD leaf pack. Timbren U bolt flip w/ OR bumpstops. Method Race Mesh Wheels with Toyo AT2's 285/70-17. BAMF Rock Sliders. RCI front skid. RCI LCA skids.
OP - how has it rode and how are current measurements with the spacer?

I have icon stage 1 coilovers and have the drivers side cranked more to comp for the lean but still falls short. I also don’t like that I have to crank it much more than the other. I’m going to try the 1/4” spacer and make sure both coilovers are at the same setting on mine and see what it does for it. Made sure to get hardware that is 1/4” longer too.
