    Hello Tacoma World!

Hubs and I got our (my) Tacoma two months ago. I can't believe I waited this long in my life to get a truck, and I am ecstatic I got the Tacoma! She's beautiful!

I've perused the forum quite a bit since before and after purchase and decided to finally register. I'm interested in modding, but am not set on where to start as the entire truck life is entirely new to me. I do run in a small circle of friends that mod their rigs and do quite a bit of overlanding, so it has become a part of life, though I'm not actively participating. Have a few minor cosmetic things planned, and have changed out interior lighting (yellow lights have always bugged me).

One thing I do know I need is a lesson on suspension, if anyone has a great link for that.

    Excited to be here!

Welcome D3moness, awesome truck, and you started the thread I was thinking about. So after driving a manual transmission 2004 Jetta GLI for 13 years and 147K miles, I finally decided it was time for a change. First let me say that the VW Jetta I got was amazing and never once gave me a problem. I almost switched to a BMW, Infinity and Audi in that time, but always ended up keeping the Jetta because it was paid for and drove excellent. I caught a lot of hate from my buddies for driving a "teenage girl car" for such a long time, but man I love that car still (for sale now). So with 3 kids, a new minivan for the wife and a bunch of upcoming house projects, I decided it was time for me to switch to something more practical for the family. I looked into Frontiers, Colorados, Canyons and even the Ridgeline, and by looked I literally just mean looked, because none of them were as appealing to me as the 3rd Gen Tacoma. So finally I decided to order a Silver 2017 TRD Sport DCSB 4X4 in Dec of 2016, and waited exactly 8 weeks to take ownership of it. During those 8 weeks I registered on TW and began to do some extensive reading on issues, reviews, feedback and mods. I almost changed my mind a couple of times given the negative feedback and reviews some users posted, especially ones that had owned previous generation Tacoma's. I mean if they were not happy, I thought that can't be good. I know that the first year of a brand new generation is going to have some issues, but the one that scared me was the transmission stuff, and among other things, all the leaks and noises and the bad paint quality. The 8 weeks also gave me time to research mods and lifts and all the stuff about trucks I had no idea about. Finally I read that the 17 had a bunch of those first year issues resolved and a few new perks. I got my truck on Valentine's Day this year, and I could not be any happier....like you, I wondered what the hell took me so long, I love owning a truck, especially a Tacoma. I should have owned every generation of this masterpiece haha, it is awesome. So naturally, while waiting on my Tacoma, and spending quite some time on TW, I learned a lot about mods and customizing, and weeks before I even got my truck, I already had bought the Pro Grill, Pro Wheels, different tires, black out badges and tailgate letters, grill badge, hitch plug, console organizer, etc, etc, etc....lol, I went a bit nuts with it. Well you can see what it looks like now, and I don't even have 500 miles on it. Again, I couldn’t be happier with the truck and hopefully it stays that way and I doubt I will ever own a car again, (unless it’s an Aston Martin DB9 Vantage or a Maseratti)...trucks are just the way to go! I feel like I got my balls back and my buddies can't talk shit anymore, since my truck is way cooler than their Rams and F150s, I know they are jealous now...they tried to hate, but they can't find anything to hate about, that's how awesome these Tacoma's are....thanks for the thread fellow Tacoma Truck owner!
