going over bumps at angles I get a clunk from the rear end somewhere.

OME nitro shocks and dakars are the only think I've done along with the 3 or 4" bump stops.

I can see where the bolts that hold the leaf pack together have put a bolt sized hole in the bump stops. Could this be it? It's driving me crazy.

Same set up and same thing going on. Mostly happens when its wet out for some reason. Nothing seems out of the ordinary after several times checking under the truck.

most people find axle wrap is the culprit. check it out. it could also be a bad tranny mount or carrier bearing or even a bad shackle bushing

Thanks for the replies. I put new greasable shackles on when I did the suspension work. Greased them up yesterday with no improvement. I joints felt solid and I might have 1/4" movement in the carrier bearing. It was replaced 2 years ago

Axle wrap thuds more so in a stop n go situation than just hitting a bump.

Can you recreate the noise by jumping on bumper? You can drive one wheel up on a ramp to simulate the angle

So the issue comes and goes now. I went on a 900 mile round trip drive and it stopped after that. A few clunks here and there but not like it was. Still have no clue what is going on back there.

I found my rear shocks were not tightened to spec, and had come slightly loose, causing a rear clunk. If you hop on the rear bumper and bouncing recreates the noise, at least check to see they are properly tightened

For anyone with the clunk I described originally, check your trans mount. My clunk is caused by a shot transmission mount. The drive shaft must be conducting the clunk towards the rear would be my guess. I think I was paranoid with all the new suspension stuff I put on the truck. Got a new mount coming so I'll report my findings after I install the new one.

    Wheel bearing?
I had a clunk when in a turn on bumpy roads or what have you for quite a while that I couldn't ever pinpoint. When doing maintenance I found rear end fluid leaking from the seal. I thought it was a leaky wheel cylinder, but it wasn't. Upon closer inspection, it was the wheel bearing. I replaced it and to my surprise, no more clunk from the rear end.

Any update on this? I have the same issue and noise. I always thought it was my dakars shifting that made the clunk. Only when they were wet.
