Tepui Ayer, cant wait to get it out of storage. 50F in Steamboat today makes me anxious for camping season.

I have 2 bars supporting the tent. I've seen some with three on larger tents, but I don't have a problem.

Before I got my RTT I read through every page on here ( I think it was ~450 then). Same when I got my suspension. Read every page on the OME thread. For me personally, researching is a huge part of modding these trucks when you're spending $1000+ on something.

You and most of us, brother! I spent the better part of 4 years doing research into suspension and performance before I built my current truck. Like I said before, I start at the beginning and speed read the posts, skipping most of the 1 liners since its usually just friends BSing :D

I think it is fair to say I have spent years of my life on this site researching things I do and do not need. My friends now refer to me as "Hermione" and "Wiki" because of all the useless (and sometimes useful) shit I've picked up here.

I'm about to join the RTT club. What do you guys think of $1000 for a nearly new Autana Sky w/ annex? I think I'd be getting a pretty good deal...

Sounds like a great deal, as long as there is no damage.

Hey guys, was wondering if i could get some input. I really love the new hardshell RTT's and want to get in on the new Skycamp from Ikamper that goes lives on kickstart tmrw 2/27/17 for 1000 bux off the MSRP. My only concern is that this thing is huge! Its 85 inches long and 54.3inches wide when closed. I want to put it on the roof of my double cab after I install my Prinsu rack (still waiting for the group buy). Question is, are there any concerns I should have with it sticking and hanging over the front and rear? since its obviously longer than the roof. I dont want to put it on my bed since i want that for my camping gear. Thanks for the help!

You're going to want to put it on a bed rack.

Will it not work on the roof? I sometimes carry tall items and i dont have a bed rack. I have a Retrax bed cover right now and don't think ill be able to get a bed rack without removing that. Just wondering if there are any downsides to putting on the roof.

That a good portion of it won't be supported when loaded, you won't be able to get in one side of the truck when it's open,

If the cross bars are at least 35 inches apart according to the ikamper guys they said it shouldnt matter since all the weight will be on the bars and not on any part of the truck that overhangs. Hard to pass up on the deal i guess. Just wanted to see if its bad to have any overhanging cargo while driving.

On a prinsu rack he will be fine, plus he's talking about a hardshell tent so no cover hanging down. You can always roll up the rtt cover and stuff it away so its not blocking your doors anyways

Check out KB Voodoo'a bed rack, they make it possible to use a bed rack with optional brackets to work with tonneau covers.

Yeah ive been doing a lot of research on where to mount this thing. I love the KB Voodoo tonneau bed cover rails system too but it wont work with my Retrax. The rail of the retrax blocks pretty much any use of the oem rail system. So before I order the prinsu during the next GB just wanted to see if any one has mounted an RTT on the cabs thats longer than the cab itself. I did a ballpark estimate of about 24-28 inches longer which I can probably split bw the front and rear. (12 inches overhang each end since the prinsu is completely flat, nothing will hit the tent if it passes the front of it. )

I can't speak to whether or not it'll work, but they have a Retrax cover working with their bed bars. (Check their IG of it on a quicksand 3rd gen) It may be worth contacting them to double check if you'd be interested in that setup at all.
