Smolich is terrible and super unorganized. My lady bought an Element from them and they took forever to pay off the Crosstrek she traded in, dinged her credit. And not only that but they sold the Subie to someone else before the pay off, I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that's backwards.

Congrats on the upcoming move! Definitely down for a meetup

Yeah, I love Champ way too much to get something else. Just been seeing a lot of them around town recently.

Hi, I was told to pop in and introduce myself. We just bought hubby his dream truck and it's still sitting in the driveway with less than 40 miles on it :) We've been sharing our SUV and saving up to put a nice down payment on it and it's finally a done deal. I realized that I had done way more research on buying the truck than everything we'd need afterwards so that's where I'm at now. I just ordered step bars for it and we're looking at getting a good roof rack installed so we can tie 4 kayaks on top. We/I plan to haul an R-Pod trailer with it next year and spend a few months on the road going around the United States, Canada, and driving the Alcan to Fairbanks. Any suggestions on roof racks? On a side note, I can vouch for Scott Sabo, he runs a solid business! Thanks for having us. We're a family of 4 plus 2 of the four legged kind.

The Prinsu racks are a little spendy but really nice and made in the U.S.A. http://www.prinsudesignstudio.com/

CVT started a rack business recently and hired a guy named Truman. He has a ton of experience with vehicle racks. He's a straight shooter as well.

I have a Prinsu, but he/they have experience with all of the big brands.

I checked out the CVT website and I think Prinsu might be the best bet for us because we have the moonroof so the welded tube rack wouldn't be best for us. I think the Prinsu with the rails adjusted back so we can still have access through the opening.

I really like the aesthetics of the Prinsu.

Even with that said, most companies make a modular setup that you seek.

Go in person and check them out. No pressure to buy. :)

A few ad hoc ranges out China hat. You don't hafta take targets because everyone treats it like a dump. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will have dumped a car for you to shoot up. A .223 to the brake rotors is sweet!
Wheeling: loads of slushy snow in the woods. Great place to overheat your engine if you're not careful. I did this last week. There are a few ohv areas rather close by (cline butte, Millikan). Just remember, loads of slushy snow= no traction. Take a shovel.

China hat is easy. Head north on 97, first bend exit (Knott rd) stay to the right, about a mile or so is a right on China hat. The dump, er sorry, the range is about 4 miles in on the left. A big red hill.

    Side note to all:
Saw on the news that they found the older gentleman that got lost last December. RIP.

Hey guys! Looking for some direction here. I've been in Bend a couple years now but I haven't gotten out to explore much. Now that I have my pup I was wondering if anyone could point us to a weekend hike/camp spot. Elk Lake is about the only place I've gone, but it was only for a day trip here and there.

    Thanks!
