I think I would kill myself before I drilled thru that thing! haha

I do believe the carriage bolts that come with the mounts fit in the rails of the crossbars. However if you go that route, the bolts will be contacting the Rotopax, which to me, doesn't seem safe because it could cause wear and create a small hole in the Rotopax. I suppose a person could put soft rubber caps or something on the bolts to prevent this.

I went a different route and quickly made up some brackets so I could put the bolts the other way, you can't see them under there, so I kinda made them very crude looking right now, because I just wanted get them mounted up there so I can use them. I'll likely be making a better mount where it utilises the sides of the crossbar rather than the tops, causing everything to sit far more flush to the rack. Unless of course I can find a better way to bolt it down.

So I found a better way to mount it already!

I'll be using T-Nuts and screwing down like they should be. I'll probably end up making a new base plate that works properly with the 1"x2" aluminium extrusion so it doesn't hang over the edge of a crossbar like the rotopax one would, but for now I'll be still using the base plate that comes with the Rotopax Locking mounts, or regular mount if you go that route.

Few pics from a weekend of fun.

This was pretty sketchy going down, felt like I was gonna roll. Not to mention how close I was to the rocker panel after going over the hump, and all the ice making me slide further into it.

The 6x6 Showed up and we got him to wheel with us for a few hours. He could do everything I could.

Had to get a picture with it, couldn't resist, if only I wasn't missing the 'T' on my grill, and my truck was clean. lol
    [IMG]

Just a bit of taco and 6x6 action. I have lots of vids, maybe I'll post them later.

New hardware came in this past weekend for the Roof Rack, so I got that all properly installed. Even got some free Tie Down Eyes.

Plano All Weather Case got mounted as well, wind deflector too. Thing is sturdy enough to stand on! :D

These BAMF Sliders w/ Kickouts are awesssome! Super happy with my purchase.

Got them installed, and I got soaking wet in the process from the snow melting, but it was worth it!

Light Flex, unfortunately someone had to deface that rock :(
    [IMG]

Made use of the sliders on both sides climbing this hill, except it took me 3 tries!

Haha, yup! It sure seems like it. Definitely already have the nicest taco in town.

Pelfreybilt Front Bumper should be ready to ship fairly soon. Will also be accommodated by Baja Designs S8 Driving/Combo Lightbar and Squadron-R Pro Amber Wide Cornering Fog Lights.

Me neither. Too much shite to go wrong.

I had a general idea too, but it's evolving daily. :notsure:

    What size is the Plano?

I just scooped one off of kijiji for my March break trip to Cuba. I'll repurpose it on the truck later.

Mine is the 40" AW Plano, it was the only one I could find sold locally in stores, so I picked one up. I think the size is perfect for me though, as I carry multiples of so many tools and misc parts.

I managed to find mine locally for about the same price as Amazons, probably cheaper because I would of had to pay for shipping through amazon.

Also Plano does not make a 42" AW Case, I do however believe when you purchase the 42" Option, you are actually receiving their 46" Version, and when you purchase the 36" Option, you are actually receiving the 40" Version, which is what I have.

I went with the 40" because if I ever decide to, I can put two cases up on the roof on each side, along with my dual RotoPax in the centre, and still have room for Traction Boards or a case (or 4) of beer on the front or back if I ever get them

... and Plano may have changed their sizes (or not), as mine is 2 years old and is 39 1/2" x 15 1/2" on the outside, including latches. That and Military Scepter cans will go in the BAJA Mega Mule on the cap (with awning on the side). I am not carrying gas over my head... EVER! The RTT will go over the cab on the BAJA flat rack.

BTW, Amazon ships for free in Canada on orders over $25.

I'm not to sure, unless they have older models.

I still paid roughly the same price though!
