Okay, I have several questions about suspension; and yes I've scoured all 1 million threads on suspension, needless to say, I'm more confused than when I started. I'm pretty sure they are simple questions...

Background, I need new shocks after 245,000 miles (probably needed them sooner). I have a 2005 Double Cab PreRunner (No Sport, no Off-Road, no 4 wheel drive).

Here are my options, stock PreRunner, Tacoma Off-Road Bilsteins, or 5100's. I'm looking to not spend a lot, but it seems these 3 options are reasonable close to each other (preices I've found below, all options are new).

    Stock option $290
    Off-Roads $270
    5100's $342

I would love to spend the least amount of money, but for only a few bucks more, the 5100's seem the way to go.

    Questions:

    1. With the 5100's and the Off Roads, are my stock PreRunner coils okay to use with these, or is it necessary to get new coils? I think if I have to buy new coils to, I would stick with stock.

1a. If I can use the stock coils with either of the others, is there any difference in ride or feel?

    2. I'm not a fan of the lean, and don't want to spend more on a leveling kit, so I know there are some slight leans with the 5100's and Off-Roads, which is worse (I know the 5100's are adjustable, but how much of lean does it still have)?

*Also note, I do have the TSB leaf spring done and I've read that helps a little with reducing any lean.

    I think that is all.

ARE cap, wade inchannel vent visors, weathertec floor mats, ranch hand grill guard, tuffy security boxes in bed, lockable tailgate handle. Still have stuff that needs to be installed and still have stuff ordered lol.
Get 5100's and order the taco lean spacer it dont cost much.
With the 5100's u can always upgrade later, coils lift etc.

If you get new springs from recall get aal and add to rear springs
Depending on how high you want to go you might have to get the carrier bearing drop also still that dont cost much either im sure others will chime in also

So I've already got the new springs, and forgive my ignorance, but how much for the add a leaf? Where is good place to get the leaf?
Also, where can I get hte spacer and how much more is that? And for now, my stock springs will work with the 5100's?

I am about to do 5100's all around and am going to use the stock coils. I've been told that for a better ride, you'd replace those with 885 coils. Going with a 1" block in the back instead of the AAL. I will see in a couple days how it all feels. I can't offer much help, I'm kind of in the same boat as you.

Stock springs WILL work with the 5100s up front, but if you plan on lifting the front you should use aftermarket coils to achieve the lift. I've heard the ride is very harsh for those using the 5100 adjustable settings to get the lift.

You also helped me decide to go with 885 coils instead of keeping my stock ones. Just throw another $170 on to the bill!

Thanks, I have looked at some of the ones one here, but I can get new it seems for not too much more. Even at that, my biggest concerns are if I go with an upgrade to the Off Roads or 5100's, how much other additional costs will I incur if I want a smooth level ride (any additional lift would be a bonus but not necessary).

Find a 3rd gen takeoff and the coils give an extra inch. I am running 2016 sport suspenion with a .5 spacer for 2 inches.
