I got my tacoma about 5 months ago and ready to do some upgrades and unsure about if there is anything desperately wrong with the 2002 Tacoma prerunner

    Too few to list.
Welcome to the site. The only thing I don't like about 2002-04 is that they stopped using mechanical throttle. Other than that, the 1st gens are solid trucks if your frame is good.

I'm honestly getting tired of the stock look and wanting to do some mods I'm not trying to make a trail runner because there's not many places around me to go and because my dad doesn't seem to happy about whole idea of it but I was thinking about a lift and some new wheels and tires but I've been told a few times not to do it because it's not 4x4.

do what you want to it if it is your money and truck, who cares what other people think. Besides there are thousands of lifted trucks out there that are not 4x4's.

As from looking on here the past 4 hours(as I'm on a road trip from southern Alabama to Tennessee) the only thing I've really decided on is painting my fender flares and grill and maybe some wheel spacers. Gonna look and think into a lift
