    Uh, YUP.

Just think about it for a second.
    1) You have to suck the water UP from the lake into the jet pump.
    2) You blast the water out through a small nozzle, ABOVE the water.

    VS.
You stick the outboard down into the water and it efficiently screws its way through it.

Ok, well I suppose that if you throw more power at it, then obviously it can get fast, at least by typical mass produced "bayliner" standards, but if you really want to go fast, then you are still better off with an outboard.

I'm not too concerned about speed. My boat is not big enough to go fast in the ocean with waves any bigger than 1-2 feet. At 3 feet if I were to go full throttle, I'd be airborne. No bueno.

Calm, flat seas... open throttle... 32-35 mph. Good enough to get to where I'm going.

Salt-away flush after every trip in the ocean, scrub down, and regular maintenance. Pain in the ass, for sure... but more fun than being elbow to elbow with 45 other people.

i love to fish but i would take a boat like the OP any of the week over a fishing boat. Im biased though as i do my boating in lake havasu. If i had the choice, i would have a boat similar to the OP but with a bravo one outdrive instead of the jet

I had to rebuild this motor twice so far (too heavy of a foot I guess). It's worth it thought. Lots of fun, Just hard to not wanna go 60-65 all the time. Ha ha ha. Thx for the likes though. We love it.

And you chew up props when you get in to shallow of water since I prefer rivers instead of big lakes and this boat will NEVER see the ocean. I had a inboard outboard before this. I just prefer the jet and 65mph on the water is plenty fast for me. Different strokes for different folks ya know?

I was soooo happy when I bought my jet boat and soooooooo happy when I sold it. We had a lot of good times in it...and a few really bad times. The wind was my mortal enemy...especially Friday-Sunday. I'd never buy one again, but they're cool and living in a river city I see a ton of them. :drunk:

I'm not sure what the argument about buying the fastest, most efficient boat is considering we all drive Tacomas. :homer:
