Paint protection Film

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181600360326?ul_noapp=true# was thinking about buying this PPF kit was reasonable cost and I contacted the seller and he said the film is high quality Made in USA manufactor better than some brand name ppfs. I want to apply it myself although I might not use the full kit. If I made a bid for $60 that would be a good price as compared to other named brands for a similar kit would be close or above the $200 range. Yea or Nay input needed.

 

I don't have an issue with PPF but I would have a hard time purchasing a no name brand off Ebay.

 

My front bumper is getting trashed from rocks. Paint is chipping off Plus the previous owner let bug guts sit and I have etching and staining in the paint.

I want to get a new bumper but protect it from damage, but I can't bring myself to use film. I spent tons of money fixing the damage it did to my Ford. The film gets disgusting over time and gets tons of scratches then it makes the truck look dull and old and you cant take it off without repainting (which is what I was forced to do)

I also would never self install. There is a reason why a full bra costs like $1,500. Its not easy to do. If you don't prep perfectly it will bubble or trap debris.

 

If this kit was 3M material, I'd be all over it at that price but lesser grade material will dull and yellow quickly. Installation wouldn't be that bad as long as you have the patience and the right tools.

 

I was considering front end protection like PPF, bra, bug deflector, etc. but eventually decided it's only a truck and I didn't like the looks of these products or the hassle to properly install a PPF. So I went with a paint pen and just touch up whenever needed.

I emailed the seller, he says its a US manufactured film and privately labeled for them, and has a lifetime warranty against fading,cracking,color changes

 

I'll be watching for your install. There are lots of how-to's on Youtube for applying this stuff.

the seller raised the price on this kit since I contacted them about the film manufacturer, if it goes back down to where it was im throwing a bid for $60 and if they take it im in for that price I only plan on using the hood and see where it goes from there on installing it from there myself, on the rest of the kit.

 

I actually decided to order this from the Factory on my 17, I hate getting chips on the leading edge of the hood or fenders.

 

did you get this particular kit? im with about hood edge and fender protection especially since my truck is my Daily driver and commuter for work lots of flying debris. I wish there was PPF applications for the windshield since I have to replace a lot of these over the years due to flying rocks.

 

No, l ordered the Toyota version and not sure what brand they offer but it does have a 7 or 8 year warranty.

 

3m is not the only quality film out there. There is also Suntek and Xpel
