Head gasket DIY help?

Need help changing out head gasket 2006 tacoma base. Small slow leak passenger side.

 

Hate to be that guy but let's begin with "too, to, two"

 

Is it a v6 or 4 cylinder, I assume by base you mean a 4?

 

Yes and the valve cover gasket.

Your post is pretty vague for help. You need someone to help you do it in person? You need instructions on doing it? Pull the head, strip it and have the head resurfaced at a local machine shop or purchase a newly rebuilt head and send yours in as an exchange. Purchase new head bolts, don't reuse. Get an OEM head gasket. Follow the steps in the Factory Service Manual for head replacement for disassemble and reassembly. Be sure to re-torque the head in the appropriate head bolt pattern toque order for the initial install and after the initial break in milage.

 

You just need to replace the valve cover gasket, or the head gasket, or both?
