I'm new to this forum, purchased my 2013 Tacoma DCLB a few weeks ago. I've already learned a ton and I'm really impressed with how helpful everyone is. The only problem is I'm wasting hours every day poring over long posts...a real rabbit hole!

I'm interested in reinforcing the tailgate and I really like the Mobtown Offroad product. I've read as many threads as I can find but I can't seem to find an answer to these questions. So I thought I'd ask them here:

Obviously, adding both the skin and the cap would be the ultimate solution. But if you could only add one, which would add the most strength to the tailgate?

If you had to choose between the skin and the cap, which would you choose and why?

Are there reasons to choose just the skin or just the cap? Or conversely, are there disadvantages (other than cost) to adding both the skin and the cap?

Thanks very much for any comments or suggestions.

If you have something sitting on just the flat portion of the tailgate all the time, the skin is the way to go. If you are constantly loading long items that sit on the tailgate in the open or closed position, the cap is the way to go.

So I like that your cap is curved with the tailgate but.

    1) does it curve over the edge to protect the face of the tailgate? (The painted exterior side)

    2) I'm buying an access tonneau cover. Does your cap sit at factory height or no? This may cause a gap from the cover to the top of the tailgate

It does not curve over the edge.

It does not sit at the same height as stock cap but most covers have a flap that hang down so it usually isn't a problem.

I'm interested in getting the tailgate reinforcement, any promos going on or planned? Also, is there shipment to Canada for a fair price?

Interested in the complete tailgate reinforcement setup (plate with bumps and cap). What's the discoutned cost for the holidays? I can send my own shipping label since I have an account with FedEx.

If you want to but I see no reason why you would. It adds a lot of work for me as well because the website will automatically force you to pay our rates and use our account.

To place the order I will end up having to send you an invoice, once paid I will need you to send me your account number so I can create the shipping label and bill your account.

We only use FedEx. Let me know.
