Helllo everyone. I am new to having a Tacoma as well to this page. Looking for some insight on pros and cons to putting a 6inch lift on my truck as well as either 33s or 35s on 20x12s. Any insight would be helpful. I am told I will have to regear, and that it will cause numerous issues down the road.

Thank you for the info and heads up. I will take a look. I'm not set on a 6inch lift I'm just gathering info so I make the right decision and not waste my time or money

3 inches or less is what's generally recommended to avoid running into issues with your drivetrain, especially if you're 4x4.

6 inch lifts have no off road capability and are for hillbillies....

Nothing but useful info in TW. Sounds like a cool build? I like 21's, really looks badass with low profile offroad tires.

Does anyone know about drivetrain issues that could come with putting a 6inch lift on? Also do fenders need to be cut if you put 33s instead of 35s

Set up the suspension correctly and you shouldn't have any drivetrain issues.

Do you mean cut fenders like this? Or just trim some small plastic?

I actually got off my ass and did some work this weekend. Taped off, measured, and cut the flares. Finished them off with some door trim. I think they turned out pretty good.

This week I'll be cutting the body.

    That's really only needed when you're running 35's on a 3" lift. If you're on 6", you'll be fine.

No, talk to Marie at @HeadStrong Off-Road. She's one of the most active vendors on here. A quick conversation with her and she'll set you up right. She specializes in these trucks.

No Guarantees there. The installer needs to know about DB lifts and the angle issues that need to be addressed (e.g. pinion angle, drive shaft angles and carrier bearing adjustments). Just make sure you talk to someone that knows how to make the appropriate adjustments. Good luck.
