1488076741142258367973.jpg I have come around with this tail gate lock. It is not intended to be the safest one, but for $5.00, I think is fine. Tomorrow I'll put a rivetted cover to close access to nuts.

I'll give you an "A" for effort, but I'd guess that anyone trying to steal a tailgate is just going to rip that out.

Yeah, like I said, not intended to be a bank locker, but could say has same safety of those sold for $70.00 or more, like this one...Screenshot_20170225-211817.jpg

True, if given enough time. Most thieves want the quick score because they're less likely to get caught. If it takes more than a minute or so, it will deter most of them. The determined douchebags will still take it.

May they rot in hell forever.

You are right, for thieves locks are just a task with more time. My taco was opened a few weeks ago, it took them less than 2 minutes to open the driver side door...a few weeks later they were caught.

I did the tail gate lock but some times I forget to lock it so I just added a hose clamp to the side that moves so no one can take it off with getting on the ground and undoing the hose clamp.

I have a "tonneu cover" which I custom build for my taco, so primary purpose is to keep things in there safer.1488125190276-2075441243.jpg
