1st mod one hour after picking up the truck. SO glad to ditch the chrome - I get compliments on the grill daily.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
To anyone that is a diy guy we have a Eco grille mild steel that fell off the rack while powder coating that's pretty trashed. The front will need to be sanded and then repainted other then that it's fine.

$100 bucks shipped to anywhere in the lower 48.

Alright my recessed grille is now installed. It was a bit more of a hassle than expected, only because whenever I'm making cosmetic improvements to my vehicles it never seems good enough. I backed off the screws and retightened like 3 times.. made sure the grommets were straight.

A bit awkward to reinstall on the truck due to the weight.

Once it was on, I realize the lower portion of the plastic surround looked wavy in the middle. I assumed this was due to overtightening so I backed off a little on a couple screws. I think it helped.. hope I didn't permanently warp it.

It was at that time that I noticed the inside painted edge of the plastic surround where it meets the grille was discolored, either I installed the grille too deep, or it rubbed paint off purely due to the tight fitment. I can't tell if anyone else has had this issue?

I'll have to take a couple pics tomorrow.

Despite those concerns, I must say this is an incredible piece, it looks amazing. I love the look and the design. The depth it adds to the front of the truck just doesn't come through in pictures. Its even better in person than I thought it would be. :D

Here are pics of the install. It actually looks quite good. But comparing to other pics I'm thinking mine might be sitting too deep.

Here's the black area I was mentioning.

Can someone else take a close up of the lip so I can compare? Maybe get a quick measurement?

It looks like your surround is not fully painted you didn't scratch that like that.

Bummer. I'll have to see if anyone except me notices it. I've already forgotten about it. The grille looks great.

I'm only concerned now about the surround cracking. I do live in a colder climate that can get below zero during winter months. Guess if it happens it happens.

Might be late to the BAMF grill game, but glad I got one. Packaging was really good for the product and the use of the expanding foam inserts. Grill looks better in person. Can't wait to get it on and figure out some type of raptor lighting for it. Going on a MGM and wanted the front color insert to match the 4x4 bedside decals.
