Traction control

Hi everyone I recently put a 6 inch lift on my truck it's a rough country and a 34 inch tire,but somehow whenever I make a turn it will make an a rubbing noise like a grinding noise actually and traction control light flashing doese anybody have any of those problem with a lift, please let me know because we are trying to figure out what is going on with this situation thanks.

 

6 inch, I'm sure all that put a lift this high will have issues in some area. Good luck on resolving it.

Thanks for the reply , I was wondering are there A traction control sensor somewhere that I can adjust, the funny thing is whenever I turn it off then its ride normal no more grinding noise, and my truck is a 4 x 4 so I don't know if It have anything to do with it

 

I have it occasionally. From the research ive done, it seems to be a yaw sensor issue, where the stock rake of the vehicle is no longer there, thus when you hit a bump or in my instance turning into a particular parking lot at an incline, the yaw sensor thinks your front end is higher than it actually is, kicking in traction control. I had my dealer recalibrate the yaw sensor and it definitely helped, but didnt completely eradicate the problem. Hope this helps

Where'd you have it aligned?
Dealer is supposed to recalibrate after an alignment job...

 

At the place I got it lift, I'll check back with them also

 

Need Techstream to do it; something I doubt they'll have.
I just didn't want to see the dealer double dipping your pocket.

 

Turn it off. Hold the traction control for 5 seconds to disarm it.

 

I forgot; you can do it manually.

Didn't know about this. Almost wanna put my truck on the slightest incline and recal because it only ever happens on some nasty inclines into, as I said, specific parking lots with shitty inclines off the main roads in town.

Calibrating on a incline might solve that no?

It says you have to have the vehicle level within one degree...
Are you getting a warning buzzer or indicator?

 

I get the grinding sound and the traction control light comes on. Not very often but ive noticed its a coming off the road into parking lots where the curb is pretty rough so its like a sudden drop of the front end followed by a sudden bump right after that generally sets it off. Now im thinking if i did it on a decline, then it would act as though the truck still had rake (if it will calibrate not on flat ground that is)

 

I had the same lift same problems. Place that lifted it had it at Toyota 3 different times never fixed truck was operating has it was supposed to. Almost 7,000 miles and many days in the shop and now it's fixed. What they did was hook up two timed relays hooked into the traction control switch. So now when I start my truck it's off if I need it on all I have to to turn it back on is push the button. No more turning and having the abs engaging or no more turning and losing power to the truck. Love driving my Tacoma again. I couldn't remember to turn that switch off every time I started the truck
