They need to pull their heads out of their asses and put a V8 in the Tacomas already.

Now that I'd love! My wife's ML350 has the 3.0Ltr turbo diesel and with 455 ft/lb of torque it's amazing! Plus 27.1 MPG on that beast is a great plus!

Nope, heard wrong. Toyota has gone on record more than once stating that they have no plans to bring a diesel to the Tacoma market.

Sorry to rain on your parade

That's all fine and dandy, people can speculate all they want. But, due to CARB and various other financial reasons, it doesn't make sense for Toyota to make the move. Further, when Toyota themselves have gone on record on multiple occasions confirming this very thing, pretty sure it's safe to say that it's not gonna happen. At least not within this generation of tacomas. Toyota doesn't just swap engines within the same generation of truck, their history confirms that. "If" this ever were to happen, which is doubtful and has been debated at length on this forum, it wouldn't be until a future generation of Tacoma. It'd certainly be awesome, but not sense in getting your hopes up

This one is a Yakima 2 timer. It works pretty good and folds up when not in use.IMG_3971.jpg

Am I the only one that wants an electric Tacoma with a micro turbine generator??

The EPA murdered the diesel engine and I'd want nothing to do with the mess most call a modern diesel. The diesel had a reputation for reliability due to its simplicity but now they're just a mess of incredibly expensive, failure prone electronic parts and require a dose of pig urine to keep them running. Sorry for my opinion lol

I'm not a diesel fan for 1/2 ton pickups... Especially the new diesels... You can drive about 50,000 miles for the cost of a diesel engine upgrade....Plus the increased maintenance costs and difference in fuel...You would have to keep one about 8-10 years to realize a savings. And that's if the truck is still in good shape.

Patently untrue, and a good way to incite a ban riot.

Mention "rear disks" and you're on your own.
