    Let's see....I was at Las Flores (Campen) back in 93 when my recon battalion disbanded and the companies were sent to the regiments (me to 5th Marines with A Co I think...crap...it's been a long time). LAV battalions became LAR back then I recall. So would that be around the same timeframe (early 90's) for 2nd LAR too?

    They disbanded all the recon bn and for a short time , it was Recon (Light Armored ) BN, then they went LAR and brought back the Recon Bn.

    LMFAO! I remember those times. Every time they called gas, we had to run out with our Stinger missile and look for the scud that was supposedly coming our way.

    Good memory! I remember a lot of the battalion guys went to force recon and the other line guys went to the regiments at 1st and 5th at Pendleton at least. What a fiasco that was moving all that gear. I had the company pick up truck at the end moving my gear and didn't know who to turn it in too for like 3 months!
