Rear diff mod: my truck is stuck?!

Rear drums stuck in my Ranger a couple of times. When I put it in reverse it just sat there so I gunned the accellerator a little bit while in reverse until it unstuck itself. Might be worth a try.

 

I did try but only like 500 ish rpm and I'm too afraid to break shit.. it's :really: stuck when it hits the spot.
Also I can select gears the selector moves normally it's just when I select reverse let's say it will roll a few feet back then lock as if my e brake is on. Then if I put it in drive same thing. Then even if I go into reverse and while it is still rolling freely, I stop myself and shift to neutral, it's still as if my e brake is on.
The more reading I do the more I feel like it's the drums... It definitely happened when my truck was on a small incline reversing.

 

I wonder if brake fluid is low? Just throwing ideas out. Probably worth checking.

 

Inspect every inch of your breather mod work. If you don't find anything wrong get in the truck and mash the god damn gas. It will break free or break shit. Either way it's under warranty and if it's nothing you did its covered.

 

I've checked everything over 6 times but that's the last thing I want to do lmao. Even if it means being late to work on Monday to have to sort this out getting it to the dealer.
I payed too much for this thing to treat it like that. If I have to mash the gas over 1000 RPM to break it free... Something is wrong and is gonna break... Lol

The just did the 10k service so it should have been checked, and besides that brakes work fine when I apply them and release they release although feel off...

 

Oh I have a few too!!! My old man had a 84' Ranger. E brake locked up all the time. I recall there was a trick to it freeing it up, but I've slept since then.

 

When the truck is in the mid point (not locked up when reversing or locked when going forward) at that free point try the emergency brake . Notice how far the lever comes up then release it.
Now do the backing up until it locks up , Now at that point try the emergency brake lever again . If it was the brakes , I would think the emergency brake lever would not come up as far if the rear brakes had pressure on them from being locked up.

 

I feel like I tried this last night but will be sure to try again this morning.

I feel like the emergency brake felt weird yesterday but I was an hour and a half into losing my mind so not sure

Some of these suggestions are downright stupid.

For the OP:
The breather mod ain't going to cause this.
Low brake fluid won't cause this.

If you want to know lift the rear of the truck, chock the front wheels, support on Jack stands, place in neutral and see if the wheels spin.

If it won't go in neutral, disconnect the drive shaft at the rear. No need to pull it out, just set the loose end aside. Wheels should spin. If not, it's brakes or rear. If so, it's the transmission.

When you reinstall the driveshaft, make sure you torque the bolts properly.

 

I'm not sure why everyone is suggesting that you do all the diagnosis on the truck. The great benefit of buying new is the warranty so arrange to have it towed to the dealer and find another way to work. problem solved.
