Cool trailer! It looks like you're using gas struts to hold your lid open? Can you tell me what size struts you are using? I'm building by lid now and it's similar construction, just trying to guess what size struts I'm going to need.

    Thank you !

Yes the gas struts do open the lid (which is quite heavy) w/ the Autana and 6ft awning.

    Actual part #

9416K21 Gas Spring with Threaded Ends, 175 Force, 26.38" Extended Length, 10.24" Stroke.

    Hope that helps @Box Rocket

Thanks. I figured it would be heavy. So 2x struts at 175lbs?

Is that sufficient to lift the lid and tent by itself or just assist? Do you need to help it go up?

    Thanks for the help!

Yes it'll lift the lid and tent(opened or closed) just need to initial lift it from the locked position. When closed, the lid will stay shut even when the latches are undone(doesn't "spring" open as soon as you undo the latch) after that it does the lifting and hold on its own.

No problem, happy to help. Great looking trailer from the ground up btw!

Hey dude I have a question bout your awning room. Is it just a cubed room suspended from the awning? Some pics lead me to think this. I have lights in my awning and been thinking bout adding the awning room but think now the lights in the awning will be useless to the room. Or is it 4 sides and a floor with open ceiling? That would workout nicely.

Unfortunately you are correct, the "Screen Room" portion of the awning has a ceiling and 4 sides. no floor.

Although, the ceiling part of it is all screen mesh so the led strips should shine through (maybe some degree darker), depending on how the actually led strips are mounted.

Funny, this popped up in my Facebook Marketplace, then I happened to notice your signature in another thread and boom, here I am. I love the build and I'm looking to build/buy something similar, but haven't yet settled on which direction I'm going.

Thanks! I know I'll regret selling it one day. Was a blast to build, they are a great platform to build off of.
