It all depends on how many trucks are in Port awaiting delivery. Yours may be the first or the last. Also depends on what additions they need to add to your truck. A lot of accessories gat added at Port, which can delay delivery. There are also some vehicles that can have priority over your vehicle because thy have been waiting longer and dealer has higher priority. You just have to be patient, and wait until it gets delivered. Good news is that the longer it takes you will have fewer miles on it and a longer warranty.

Yeah but I'm waiting for the new black rack from CCR. Just a couple more weeks and I'll be adding it to have a dialed system.

If Toyota could stuff your Tacoma in a box with bubble wrap and throw it in the back of a UPS truck then you'd have a fair critique. But it isn't like that, in fact it is a complicated shipping network that involves, trains, transport vehicles and staging yards. And believe it or not, Toyota doesn't control any of it, it's all contracted.

I ordered a Wrangler a few years ago and on one of the dedicated forums they had a password to a Chrysler website that allowed people to actually trace the vehicle as it shipped from the factory. But there was a trick - the actualy precise location wasn't shown to you by just logging in and using the software - you actually had to dig into the code that was running in the background and search for a very specific piece of text that indicated exactly where the vehicle was that day. So the bottom line was I could tell my dealer where the truck was with far more accuracy than he could give me. I even walked the salesman through it one time and he couldn't believe it (such is the power of the Interwebs).

I understand this -- I know all you are saying. Some manufacturers are better at getting specific orders through their process than others.
It is a very low percentage of the public that is willing to wait in this "gotta have it NOW" society, and I will stand by my judgement that Toyota could do better in this area -nuff said

Seems to me that you are waiting for a newly built and ordered truck, and not the one from the other dealer. If it was in stock at the other dealer, I doubt it would take that long to get it to you.

    Correct!!
My truck is here and in my ownership, and it WAS a special order (SR5 AC AT 4WD) with the only option being Tow package. Tow package IS NOT an added thing at a "port" facility like Kansas City. The Truck sat there for 2 weeks. This was according to the dealers tracking data!

The dealership uses Dealer Daily to track delivery of their vehicle (in Pipeline Tracking). It will show the production date, port processing, rail delivery/arrival, shipping to dealer, ect. After your Taco was made and it goes to "F Status" while it is being delivered to your dealership, and in Pipeline Tracking it will only show an estimate date of when it is supposed to arrive. So when you dealer told you it was in freight, he is only telling you the best info he has (he might be able to give you a little more details like if it's on rail or not, but that's about it).
