Cab chassis cracks

    1996 Tacoma 4X4 base model 3.4 Automatic ext cab 2 door... cracks in the cab sheetmetal floor directly above the driveshaft flange. Stripped the seats, carpet etc and noticed it. Seems rather odd but there is quite a bit of flex in the floor whn you hit it with your hand.
    If you look from underneath it is very visible. Cleaned the area fashioned a sheet metal cover and pop rivited it in the undercoated the inside and out side... time will tell if this is a "fix" or a "patch".

    you have a body lift on? and unless you patched it fro the bottom it won't stop water from coming in

    under coated underneath and it wont be fording any rivers... just a $1k pickup for use in Cabo.

    I am guessing you don`t weld that is why the pop rivet patch.

    Did you at least drill out the cracks ?? So they don`t propagate

    It looks like it rusted then once it was weak it cracked

    it looks like the body "accordions" where the crack formed, yes the cracks were drilled at the ends. When she gets to her new home in cabo if she travels 500 miles in a year that will be a lot of miles.
