The winch mount is setup to use the stock skid, so as long as the aftermarket one uses the stock bolt holes it should work fine

what is the solenoid box mounted too? Stock bolts used to reinstall, come with new bolts or did you have to go buy some? How easy is it to access once installed. Apologize for questions but preparing to order one and doing research to be prepared. Great looking setup!

So the winch mount came with a bracket for the solenoid to be mounted to and all the necessary hardware for mounting. Access is easy, right though the grill. I'm super happy with the results.

This looks sick. I like to keep the sleeper look (quiet but deadly). Whats the weight on this setup before the winch is mounted?

Hi all, tons of inquiry here about this build so I'd like to redirect your questions to either my TW post or shoot me an email LRFab@outlook.com

I'm about 3-4 weeks out on each order, and I'm working on partnering with Warn & Smittybilt to offer a better product (so this may delay things further).

Anyway, check out the original post for a few more pics and hopefully it will answer some questions that have been posted here.

    Thanks all

@iwagner, I know this is an old post. but my question for you, is have you used the front mounted winch for recovering your Taco, and does the bolt mounted winch frame hold up. I'm a little concerned with the pull weight on bolts where it attaches to the frame. Hope this makes sense.

    thanks

TRD Off Road sticker. Not the whole package, just the sticker.
I've got a bumper I built and it mounts similar to this, minus the 2 bolts on the frame. I've done some pretty rough recoveries with the winch, and been recovered by others pulling on the bumper. I've also bashed it on many rock while wheeling. It is still rock solid. This winch plate would be even stronger than that since it actually used the bolts on the front of the frame.

I said no, but not because I don't think it's a cool idea. It is. With some cleaner cuts of the lower valance, it could look even better, lol. I think I would have tried to set the fairlead out a little farther so you could cut a smaller hole in the valance and mount the fairlead to the surface of the valance, rather than recess it in like that. I think that'd be pretty cool, but I do understand why you'd want it separate from the winch mount.

But here's my take: ground clearance.

It's good that you don't loose any ground clearance, but you don't gain any either. My thought is that if you're going to tear into the front end and install a winch, might as well increase your approach angles, too. My stock valance had plenty of scratches on it from hitting/scraping it on things. I do like how you can just re-install the front license plate to kind of hide the fairlead. If you use a winch for farm work, or mostly drive forest roads where you don't need ultra high clearance, or just prefer the "stock look", this is spot on.

I definitely like how it has bonafide recovery points rather than relying on just the factory tow hook.

And yes, I know, old post, lol...
