I have but im local. I wouldnt recommend any products of that size to be powdercoated and shipped if thats what youre doing but i doubt billy ships powdercoated armor knowkng the probable cause of damage during shipment.

In conclusion im happy with billys powdercoater. I got a semigloss powdercoat finish 20170121_153750.jpg 20170121_153819.jpg

5 weeks down, 3-5 to go! This is a fair test of my patience.

Billy called me Saturday evening and took my order. Rear standard high clearance, with LED cutouts, swingout, table, and rotopax mounts :woot:. I am sure the wait will be well worth it.

Front plate bumper with center hoops and dual square cutouts and then a high clearance rear plate bumper with swingout and every other option he offers (well except Rotopax mount because I am getting a can holder)

Lol. I'm kinda scared about doing mine too. Do you remember how much he charged to cut your bedsides?

A little of this and a little of that
Not responsible for what happens if you follow but this is what I did.

After spending a crap load of time marking and remarking painters tape on the bed side and wasting energy thinking and rethinking about it. I ended up removing my rear flares during the install because I couldn't figure out a way to draw a straight line across the flares to know where to cut. Damn.

This method should yielded me a parallel cut from the top of the bed rail so any rake of the truck suspension didn't matter. I had this stuff laying around the garage so I used... painters tape, Sharpie, tape measure, straight 2x4, thin metal (somewhat flexible) straight edge and trusty cut off wheel.

    After removing the rear flares.
Lay down a few strips of painters tape from the bottom of the tail light to the rear wheel well on the bedside. Don't worry if it is not perfectly parallel to the ground.
Take a straight 2x4 and lay it across the bed rails above the tail lights and align it to the vertical edge on the side of the bed.
Measure from the lower edge of the 2x4 to the bottom corner of a tail light and record that number.
Slide the 2x4 over and position it over the rear edge of the wheel well on the bedside.
Measure down from the bottom edge of the 2x4 the same distance that you just recorded and make a mark with a sharpie on the tape.
Just to be thorough, make another measurement and make another mark roughly halfway between the tail light and the wheel well edge of the bedside.
Connect the three dots with a flexible straight edge with the sharpie.
Take a deep breath and cut away following the line you just made.
You will need to figure out how much sheet metal to cut off under the tail lights. Remember that it is better to trim off less and come back again to trim off more.
Reinstall the flares and you can easily eyeball how much to cut based on your "new" bottom edge of your bedsides.

    Good luck.

I think I will follow this. And instead of paying Billy to cut the bedsides for me I can just use that money towards powder coating. My big concern isn't so much marking the cut line but actually cutting a straight line.

    Everything TW members recommend
If you do the cut yourself ahead of time, you can do the necessary prep and painting of the cut edges to prevent corrosion.
