As far as "get me a good tech, that goes without saying" goes.. I had a recall done on my truck by the shop foreman for my local dealer.

He fucked up on his reassembly and caused me legit trouble, like barely escaping serious accidents with semi trucks and other large, faster moving vehicles. I had more than a month of seemingly random issues with cylinder misfire and the truck going into limp mode when I needed all the power I could get.

I was the one who figured out not what was happening, but a common sequence of events for when it did happen - and the dealer couldn't replicate it. I could, how the hell couldnt they?

In the end, I took the foreman for a ride who did the work, with his Techstream recording my ECM data in real time. Caused the issue on the drive, then he sent the info to Toyota who came out and diagnosed it. He fixed the problem.

    All was well.

I could've been a huge asshole given the safety concerns and multiple near accidents. I was an appropriate level of irritated, but never once did I call out the guy who caused it and insinuated he didn't know what he was doing. I need him to fix it. I know he looks and feels worse than he did before he caused the problem, and that's enough for me. Finding someone who really cares is hard enough, and they make mistakes too. I'd rather support someone's confidence than steal it from them and then expect a high level of performance.

This explanation would have saved you a lot of grief had it been included with the pic of your truck in your update...

Dealer did my rear brakes month ago. Drove home bought 15 miles perfect without issues. Decided to grab a bite to eat pulled out like 10 feet and locked up. Jacked it up and passenger tire would not spin. Undid the adjustment enough to park it back in drive way. Opened it up early morning and the e brake bracket was not installed correctly....

And here lies the problems. Guess just need to make sure my truck is only worked on during the middle of the week. Shit before it was built I was jokingly hoping it wasn't built on a Monday or Friday, guess I shouldn't have been joking.

    Dealer just left a voicemail:

    "
Truck is ready, the Parking-Brake cable was adjusted too tight"

Hope this is the end of it... I'll be picking it up after work...

Let me get this straight... @madmanxing You feel comfortable changing and routing breather tubes but not comfortable jacking up your rear axle to see if your brakes are hung up? "i work on my own trucks... when something needs to be done i get it done myself." What work did you do with your '05?

Let me get this straight... This isn't up for debate what the fuck I know how to do on my own truck or what I have done before.

I've done disc breaks, valve cover gaskets, ac compressors, water pump, all oil changes, changed my bumpers, suspension, lights, installed sound system with a back up camera.. that's all I can remember the past few years but who the fuck cares?
In no way am I saying I'm great with a wrench. I just know what I need to know, and when I don't know, and need to, I learn.

I could have done that but why waste more time? It wasn't something that I broke not to mention because I didn't break it I spent 2 hours checking and trying other things related to what I touched, exactly because I didn't know what was wrong!!!
I wasn't going to spend another half day taking apart my brand new fucking truck to diagnose it myself. Definitely not take apart my brand new trucks drum brakes I haven't worked on before...

Is that straight enough for you?

I didn't feel like reading all 7 pages. Was the park break cable the issue or is there more?

OP had Saturday service. That may be the worst day of the week to have service done. Wednesday is the best day for service if one can get it into the schedule. Techs not hurried, plus maybe a 10-20% off coupon.
