Hello TW, I figured I have enough mods under my belt to open up a build thread for my truck. I have a 2015 Super White Trd Sport Double cab short bed. This is my third vehicle, but first pick-up. I've always been a fan of Toyota's, as i previously owned a 3rd gen T4R which was my first car. Tacoma's have always had my eye, so after i graduated college and got a decent paying job, I went out and bought myself something nice.

A couple of photos from when I brought her home from the dealership including the first mod, the SaltLife sticker.

Not much changed over the first year of ownership. I've taken her on the beach a few times but no hardcore trails or anything of that nature. She is a pavement pounder and will be the DD for a quite a long time.

Uncle Sam gave me some cash back so I had the front windows tinted to 35%, and the storm trooper syndrome set in. EVERYTHING MUST BE BLACK. I also did the badges at some point. Removed them, sanded them down, and painted them Graphite grey with Krylon Fusion paint. I like the look of the grey badges with the TRD pro grille I had the dealer throw in when I bought the truck.

The next mod was replacing the chrome headlights which started to drive me crazy after I had the window tint done. I went with the TRDpro headlights, and like the look a lot. I considered doing the BHLM but I prefer OEM quality especially on a new truck that isn't paid off yet.

Here is a side by side comparison of the headlights. Not much light in the photo, but they are darker in person.

I just ordered a set of Falken Wild Peak AT3/W in 265/70r17 along with some 5100's for up front to level the truck out. The dealer found nail in one of my tires and since I would rather have an AT tire anyways, I figured I would just go ahead and buy 4 new tires. I'll post some pictures once I have them installed! BTW, Dealer wanted 300 bucks to install a new Bridgestone HT tire. All four Falkens I bought were 750 mounted, from a local tire shop. They are also doing the Billies up front and have done quite a few sets on Tacoma's and other Full size trucks.

    Before 5100's and tires

    After 5100's @ 1.75 and 265/70r17 Falken AT3/W's

750 for four installed or was there more in that price? Those tires are 137.00 a piece shipped from @Discount Tire Direct, so mounting and balancing was 50 a tire? The dealer wasn't the only one trying to rip you off.

You are correct, I had those tires priced and shipped at $600 I think, but they are out of stock at DTD. I don't mind giving a small time local guy a little extra cash to do the work either He's also throwing in a used spare of the same size tire so I have a matching full size on the truck.

    5100's and 265/70r17 Falken AT3/W installed today!

I have my alignment scheduled for tomorrow. I can visually see positive camber so figured its best to get it done ASAP. These tires look much more aggressive in person. They have raised lettering on side (i chose to face this side out) and then smooth lettering on the opposite. No white letters on either side.

Next mods on the list are going to be a GTX-455 from Bob's mirrors. I hate not having a temp gauge.

Also need to figure out a 1 inch AAL for the back. Having 5100s at 1.75 causes for some serious bro lean when I actually use the bed of the truck. I would also need new shocks and U bolts...

The truck has gotten most of my attention lately - definitely a good thing. Me and old buddy have been working on each others cars on the weekend. He drives a 2015 GTI so the mods we have been doing on that and my truck have been very different.

Last weekend I installed a new GTX-455 mirror and played around with some images on the factory entune.

Yesterday I did ND4s anytime fog light mod and cut out one of the under dash switch blanks to fit a 120v outlet in it. This took a lot of patience with an exacto knife because there is not much room to work with. I got it all wired up so I just need to rip apart the center console and tap into the factory inverter wires.

I also talked with Vin from SCS and got on the waiting list for 4 17" SR8s in gunmetal for the November shipment. I havent been a big fan of the factory Sport wheels and I was leaning toward the SEMA TRDPro 4runner wheels in gunmetal untill I saw the SR8s.

SUPER PUMMPED that I'm getting new wheels. It's something I have never done to any vehicle. Just have to remain calm until November!!

I'm planning a fishing trip to the Outer Banks in late October so I want the truck to be a bit more user friendly in the bed area. I was able to score a $40 bed mat off of CL.

I also did the 400w anytime mod and installed my AC harness I wired up under the head unit in a switch blank.

I lost power the other night and was able to charge my work laptop and continue working! The mobile office is complete since I also have a MiFi device my company gives me as a backup.

I have a fishing trip with some buddies down in Hatteras this weekend and we decided on just taking 2 Tacos. The other choice would have been a 1500 Chevy work truck... So kinda of an easy decision. The other truck is a 2014 Sport with I think is a Rough Country 4.5 spacer lift and 33s.

My dad gave me his spare ski (fishing rod) rack off his truck and I bought some Mighty Mounts from Yakima to bolt them to the factory roof rack bars.

Not as sleek as I want but it's functional. The racks are pretty dated, notice the factory Ford logo on them.

I'm gonna post some crappy phone picture of the journey, hopefully my buddy with a GoPro gets some cool shots of us on the beach, and of course some fish!

I had my new SCS SR8s installed today. Transformed the look of the truck completely.

Not that anyone actually watches this build, but I've been working on a Behind the grille light bar mount. Everything is mocked up, now I just need to get the spacing and positioning correct so my light bar fits nice and flush.

I'm using a 10 inch Rigid Radiance bar with the amber backlight.

The bracket on the passenger side has some flex to it as it needs a backplate to keep it sturdy. I also need to cut out a section in the middle so it will sit flush against the hood release support. I want to put a hole for a third bolt there.

I mounted up the LED bar and ran the wires so everything is ready for SPDT switch I ordered. The switches supplied by Rigid are dorky in my opinion.

Drilled the center support hole to add the third bolt in the hood latch support. Added a 1 inch spacer, washers, and rubber washers.

And moved the bar a bit off center so all of 6 LEDs have a clear shot straight. I didn't want to cut the Pro grille up for obvious reasons. Aiming this thing is a PITA. I need to go on a dark, level trail.

The radiance portion isn't as bright as I expected, this is also only the 10 inch and it lacks the side branding which I think adds a big more backlighting output. As far the light itself, it's pretty damn bright. It's throws more light that my high beams, and is much wider since it's a combo pattern. I would imaging the light output would improve if you had a larger model, or didn't hide it behind the grille.
