Bishop is absolutely the better goalie, so he is better than Budaj for the playoff run. So in that respect, the Kings didn't do anything to hurt their chances at that position. But I think Budaj proved he can hold the fort down if need be (as well as can be realistically expected). Plus, they could still have him in the future. I think they need offense though, so we will see if they add a forward before the deadline. If Quick is healthy, no one is stealing the net from that man. He's still the best in the game, as far as I'm concerned.

 

The issues with the Kings are not related to goaltending.. if Budaj and the D could keep the Kings at 5th in goals against and 5th in penalty kill %, the step up with Bishop backing up Quick will not suddenly leapfrog them in to cup contention.

The Kings problem is that they can't put the puck in the net at even strength, or on the PP.

Bishop may have been a good pickup, but he is not what they needed to significantly increase the overall team performance.

 

Exactly, plus only 1 goalie is going to play at a time. So if they get in, and Quick is healthy, Bish is riding the pine. So your big acquisition isn't helping you much, for the run. Budaj for sure could've done the job.

 

It could have also been at least a little bit about getting Bishop off the market so another team, like the Flames, couldn't sweep him up and make a push that leaves the Kings on the outside looking in.

I am happy this year already because the crapnucks have long been out of the playoffs....

 

Hell, i just hope the Caps make it past the first round!!

Certainly was not the score I was expecting for this game, but definitely had a playoff feel to it.

 

Minny just had to give them a point.

 

Considering they had to come from behind four separate times, I'm just glad they won at lol

 

That OT was terrible lol. Carter, Kopi and Doughty should be ashamed to let the dude split them like that. Minn played a solid game though. Stuck with it and kept fighting. Well-deserved win.

Caps getting Shattenkirk is interesting. The team is stacked. They better win or I don't know what will happen. They will take some heat If they fail, that is for sure. If we play them, I'd love to be the ones to bounce them again.

 

Quicks temper tantrum smashing his stick was pretty amusing too

 

I honestly would've done the same thing, if 3 of my top players let a guy split them and Doughty couldn't even pinch him enough to keep from cutting across the crease! I don't blame Quick for that goal or for being pissed. That was ridiculous. Heck of a play by Granlund though.
