Ty, I missed my truck. I need to put my front and rear bumpers on now after I install the supercharger. I still have a bit of work to do but am looking forward to it

Lucky you. I called today to have my frame inspected and was told my VIN is not one of those affected. Guess they must have figured it out?

It was meant as "Tongue in cheek" not to be taken seriously. I am glad you got a new frame out of it. Looks good and will give you plenty more life safety and confidence in your Tacoma.
I just found it funny that with all these failures the local dealer can ID it down to VIN#. I understand lot numbers and regions sold which would have greater impact, but to say it doesn't need to be inspected by VIN seems like a liability. I told them I wanted to make sure vehicle is safe as we tow and do not want to risk safety to ourselves or anyone else on road.
In all honesty my frame looks good to my untrained eye, but I am sure they have a documents on what and how to look for trouble spots.

They do a "frame test" which consist of a punch and a hammer in specific places on the frame.

Super nice! Are they starting to just replace all the 1st gen frames now or something? Use to be some resistance from HQ, right?

I believe if it wasn't replaced they do an initial inspection. If it has a hole bigger than 10mm rusted thru it then it gets replaced. Otherwise just a frame spray and a plug kit for the problem areas. I believe they're opening up the recall again that may include ones not covered under the first recalls.
