What size lean spacer did you use? I have the same set up with my 3rd gen, I don't notice driver's side lean, but when you use a tape measurer it shows.

I'm not running 5100, but with my 887s and Old Man Emu shocks I did need to run a sway bar relocation kit. The coil was contacting the sway bar at times.

Just installed my 5100/887. I have a nasty vibration in the front right around 35-40. Feels like I have knobby tires. Any of you guys have that problem? I feel like it can be the front diff axle angles. Been looking at a front diff drop. But there's mixed reviews on the web for that mod. And I had the hardest time getting my alignment even close to spec. Both cams were fully maxed out. Going opposite directions. Need upper control arms ASAP. been thinking of the jba.

Did you install new wheels/tires and get them properly balanced? I had vibrations but felt it throughout the truck and fixed it with a CB drop.

I have the same wheels and tires before the lift and didn't have the vibration. I can feel the vibration right where my feet are when I'm sitting in the front. I looked underneath and checked out the CB. the angle doesn't look crazy. The front axles look like they have more angle than anything. . I did a wheelers 3aal 1.5" lift in the rear.

Curious what's the downside to the AAL if you tow ?

Better to get a whole new rear set then ?
Digging through the the threads for lift research now - I tow every other weekend during spring and summer.

Because the AAL is still relying on the main leaf pack for the bulk of the load handling, and the OEM leaf pack is terrible and weak (by design!).

AALs don't fix that, they just make it less noticeable until you're loaded down.

    Perfect description.
I had the AAL and would tow my boat, and she would squat like a female dog.

Did any of you guys go from 885 to 887? Also how bad are the CV angles with the 887? I have 5100s with 885(non X) and they have sagged significantly to were I have a 3/8" spacer on drivers side to help with sag.

I am at 22 1/8" in front and 22 1/2" in rear with Wheelers AAL without overload.

Are there any pros or cons to the 887 with a 4wd other than more lift?

    Thanks in Advance.

could anyone with the 5100/887 take a measurement for me, coil measurement from the spring seat to the bottom edge of the rubber isolator on the upper mount? With the weight of the truck on them. I currently have 5100/886 and just want to compare. when i measured with no weight on the suspension and then with the truck on the ground i only have 3/4" down travel, MAYBE 1 " from ride height.

I am going this route shortly. I currently have 5100s @ 1.75 on stock coils, stock rear.

I will be putting 887s onto the 5100s (approx 15k miles on them) and then adding the 3 leaf AAL to the rear. JBA UCAs will be added to the front also. This will be my first major install and was hoping for any pointers from those who have done this themselves.

    Questions at the moment:
Should I worry about the rear brake lines? The only off-road the truck will see is the beach. I can always revisit this if I decide to get more into trail riding ands it's not a necessity now.

Should I upgrade the factory rear shocks? Again, I don't need the extra length since I don't flex the rear suspension. They have 30k on them so if I could get another 30k from them I would be happy.

Should I go ahead and replace the front 5100s with new ones? This would save time during the install if I had the 887s already mounted on the shocks. I also worry the life of the shock is shortened when you use the preload on the stock coils.

Any general installation tips, tricks, or tidbits?

I just ordered the 887 and 5100 combo from headstrong and I have installed the 5100 and 3 leaf AAL a few months ago without the extended break lines. I do have the break valve spacer from headstrong installed. I don't see much flexing similar to what you said so I would say you are good with out the break lines. It's always good to get a second opinion from a professional shop. Marie at headstrong is always helpful! Give them a call if needed
