Now these would allow the front two factory lock actuators in the absence of the OEM keyless entry module or the integration module to function, correct? Would these 30/40 Amp relays work?

Do you also mind elaborating on hooking up the actuators to the relays? The whole 7 wire thing actuator harness really throws me off (as aftermarket actuators have only 2 wires)

You referring to the plug that plugs into the door latch? The previous info was just to make them work from the inside. Yes absence of everything. just straight up wired. Give me 15min and I'll include the key switch in a diagram. Allowing you to power unlock all the doors from the outside key.

You would have one more inside door lock switch. You'd wire it up the same as the other. those relays would work.

This is perfect, thank you so much. You don't know much this helps. What is the function of the broken line (switch I think?) that's has all 4 wires not connected to anything at the top of each motor assembly?

That tells the integration relay what position the latch is in. Door open or closed. With factory power windows you cant hit the power lock and lock doors if the door is open and key is on. Keeps you from locking your keys inside.

You can wire an alarm system to it also. For remote unlock and lock with key fob.

I want to use an aftermarket remote entry system with this, where would I hook up the lock and unlock trigger wires from the keyless entry module?

The sensor that tells the integration relay if the doors are opened and closed... is the door check sensor? Could I say hook up a warning light (like they had on early 1st gens) to this circuit to turn on when the door is open?

You would wire to the same unlock and lock inputs on the relays. But you'd prolly want to use a diode inline with them. The alarm would tell you if you did and also the alarm has to use a ground signal to do it. If the alarm uses a positive signal to do it, you'd have to use 2 more relays. As far as door switch. the door has to be complete unlatched. A partial latch will trip switch.

    Thanks!
I'm planning on using this keyless entry system: (the link will bring you to a review of someone who did it in a 97 4Runner, so all the wiring should be the same)

    Here is the wiring diagram:

Thanks so much for the help man, really appreciate it. I figured almost everything else besides the power locks.

A few semi related questions, I have some power mirrors off of a 2000 4Runner, rumored to even be heated.
    1) I don’t think my truck has the power mirror wiring, so I would likely need the full door harness from a 2000+ Tacoma or 4Runner to get even the mirrors to work?
    2) if they are heated, how is the heater energized ? Is that an ECM that times it out?
    3) I’m ok with manually operating the heaters, possibly with a lighted switch. Is this all just a dream or just a monumental anthill of not worth the hassle BS?
    4) would a set of front doors from a 4Runner fit my Taco used for parts? or at least the interior panels, I could salvage the harness to get the mirrors working?

    Thanks

    1. Don't bother using a factory harness. Make your own, it's very simple. Three signal wires per mirror, and power and ground per mirror.
    2. Factory, the heating elements are wired in parallel with the defroster circuit on your HVAC system.
    3. Buy a timer relay and a momentary switch to accomplish this, or you can just wire it in parallel with your windshield defroster to function like factory.

I kinda thought that might end being the way I had to go. I have a mirror control switch coming and the next part is tracking down the plugs that will work for the mirrors and the switch, and the assorted bits in between. But that can take as long as it needs to since I now have the mirrors on and sadly more time than money on my hands, like many of us..D0EF0932-B74B-47BD-9E74-971C842149E7.jpg42F574D4-56DB-4E5F-848D-EF714A53DE8F.jpg It’s not an exact color match, but it will do for awhile till I track down the plugs and bits for the wiring, so much better than the original mirrors....

I'm thinking of doing the same with my 2000 Taco but instead of using original wiring harness what I want to do is buy a Universal Keyless lock kit and a universal electrical window kit and wire those components to the ones on the 4Runner or prerunner panel. Do you think this will work?
